Show em one that doesn’t give away any major spoilers. Show em the clip where dirty Ken kills the first set of goons in the movie. Arrow in chest, same arrow is in goons head, several more heads explode, etc. The scene where Raoh kills the metal viking is good too.

Rei would beat shin. Rei was about evenly matched with ken until Ken fought Roah for the first time. And ken was a LOT stronger after that first loss to shin.

Dayum reading this thread reminds me of how good HnK was when i first read/saw it… I have a lot to catch up with and Ive also just started reading JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and that shit is crazyyyyyy son. I’ve played JBA and HnK when I was 12-ish and i thought they’re dope too but at that time i didnt have the access to the mangas etc and eventually forgotten about it… So yeah, thanks threadstarter.

Hmm…as excited as I am about the prospect of a new HnK game, I can’t help but fear it’ll inhale massive amounts of dick because it’s being made by Koei and it has “Musou” in the title.

That new HNK game looks promising, by visuals alone. Reminds me of MGS4 quality graphics.
I think people like Shin, because his arc ended absolutely perfect. Tragic and sad. I would even go as far as to say that he lost to ken, because his reason to fight was gone. His girl commited suicide. (Although, this changed later. Originally, she didn’t come back and you can really feel his sadness.)
I loved the FOTNS-1.
I think FOTNS-2 isnt as bad as most on here are making it to be. WE ARE LIVING… LIVE IN THE NINTIES NINTIES NINTIES!!! Seriously, I loved the fact that we learned the secret to becoming the leader of Hokuto was to have great sorrow and love. It explains why Raoh was defeated. I also liked how Ken questioned himself.
I don’t know why people love Shin SOOO much. I think I am a Rei fan. He just made some mistakes in life, but he faced them like a man. He even endured a surgical proceeder that looked worse than death. Watching his fingernails popping off was just sad. In the manga, his blood seemingly went out of every pour in his body.
I also liked NFOTNS, although it CANNOT compare to the orginal animated series. It tries to hard to be modern and show rely on the fun of the deaths. Also, we don’t see ANY of the new techniques that kenshiro knows. It seems to completely overlook that he learned the last move of Hokuto. But, it does tell an interesting story.
FOTNS is better that DBZ in MANY ways. It will never become popular on regular american tv. The reason is the gore and nudity. Rei literally rips some chicks clothes off. People get killed in many horrific ways. Cartoon Network would have a field day editing all of the violence out. Which would suck, because this show is about damned good violence…
I don’t think gore is a problem for HnK being shown in the US; and comparing it to DBZ is a moot point IMO.
Mamiya was the girl that Rei pretty much stripped.
I’m curious Tizoc as to why you think HnK’s gore and nudity wouldn’t be the biggest hurdle?
I would have thought as much, because really Hokuto no Ken has very limited amounts of light hearted moments, compared to DBZ(Goku and Piccolo getting drivers licenses anyone?). Every episode someone is getting blown up, or some girl is about to be raped or something. I have no idea how editors would make sense around that.
DBZ had violence, but at least most of the battles are drawn out, or someone isn’t being blown every episode.
HnK could be shown on some kind of PPV channel, but making the cut for a children’s anime block? That would be interesting to see.
Do you guys know WHY they stopped using the original VA’s in the OVAs?
