I always loved Ryuuken’s line to Raoh at the beginning thats in my sig. It was not till YEARS later with youtube and everything, that i saw the original and realized it was just a line the dubby guys made up on the spot.

i had to watch the old movie again, and i swear, that scene were kenshiro meets bat and lin for the first time is still just as hilarious today as it was when to me when i was young. Someone should make a gif of bat’s reaction to that dudes body flopping around lol

Yeah, that’s why I love the utter ridiculousness of this movie. My only qualm is Yuria. Having her “die” as in the comic would have made more sense. Instead, she survives, but somehow gets lost again…

That pic is an early concept art of the game. At the time Jagi, nor Heart and Mamiya, were not part of the character roster.
They were still writing the manga when they did the film, so they intentionally left Yuria’s fate ambiguous at the end. The film was the first time Yuria’s Nanto heritage was ever mentioned.

You know when I saw that movie? When I was 12 years old… me and 4 other friends saw that movie and we thought that was the COOLEST THING EVER!!! We would refrence lines from the movie all of the time and we thought it was the most epic thing ever created.
I only started watching the original series last year and it kind of got repetetive for me. I like the movie and the dub voice actors are really great.

I recently watched the Raoh movies, I found them to be very dull. It lacked the punch of the original series/manga/movie, and by that I mean that it lacked in action and in fun. I didn’t have fun watching them. Also, wtf at showing all the violence off-screen? In Raoh Gekitou no Shou, he barges into the Nanto fortress to get Yuria, hundreds of guys come charging at him and just as Raoh is about to wreck their collective asses it cuts to another scene, the cuts back to Raoh walking up some stairs with a bunch of bodies. Lame!
However, I loved the scene where Kenshiro was smacking the shit out of that random goon for information.
