Adon wakes up so fast at the moment it’s not even funny (7 frames faster IIRC!), I don’t know of any setups to safe jump him, hope the regular wakeup timing stays in the final build. Also, IMO all characters should be free for safejumps on wakeup, they just have to nerf the Shoryukens to 4 frames instead of 3, it’ll make the game more offensive (even though I main Akuma lol).
So? He’s got the fastest wake up? He’s also got one of the lowest health in the game, he should have a unique reward for that as most all low health characters do. Honestly if they just gave him back his command jutting kick (close HK animation) and faster top down he’d be solid. I would also like less strict timing on links if only because of online play. I think that cancellation of tooth at wall idea is great! Too bad capcom ain’t that creative. IAJK has way to difficult an execution barrier to deserve a nerf, but i guess if all the other instant airs are getting one then can’t really argue. ADON IS A BAD ASS CHARACTER

It’ll be unfortunate if they end up making his wake up time slower, I liked that his was unique, I feel like subtle differences like that between characters make the characters more varied. But if they want a more generic game, hwhateva. Just gonna wait to play before I love any sleep over poor Adon.
If they’re going to try and make the game more generic, then why keep option selects? The game is already becoming a useless “insert OS here and have the computer figure out the best scenario for you” kind of game. They could have easily balanced the game by just buffing the lower guys and it would have been damn near complete. Overdoing it with these kinds of nerfs to characters that aren’t even OP is just making the game bland and boring, rather than balanced, varied, and fun.
pretty sure option selects aren’t removable. just part of any fighting games engine naturally. it happens

I was arguing with a friend who thinks it wont make much differece. I tried to explain how most low hp chars have a speed bonus to counteract the lower hp, but he seemed to think it would be fine. I perosnally think Adon needs the faster wakeup, its bad enough that if we mess up we lose a shit tonne of hp, but being unable to counter people on wakeup ‘easily’ will suck
Um…welcome to being free on wake up like most offensive characters are? You’ll still be able to block despite all of the changes. The whole point of playing Adon or other offensive characters like him is to play smart and stay on your feet. Not play half assed and fall back on reversals. He probably has the some of the best buttons and fundamentals of any of the offensive type characters (who usually get shafted in that department). Play smart and you won’t see your butt on the floor so often. Block it out when you get knocked down.

He’ll be free if Capcom takes away fast wake up and not buff Rising Jaguar. Right now HK Jaguar is his best non-ex reversal but it only have 0.7 range (majority of throws have 0.9 range) and MK Jaguar can lose to certain well timed normals.
Plenty of characters in this game are free on wake up. He has a lot of great tools to zone and space so if he’s free on wake up…well he’s free on wake up. Guile has a 4 frame flash kick and is still mostly free on wake up. Adon has so many ways to move around and not get knocked down and generally control space that I could completely understand them making him free on wake up.
i really hope developers do not touch TKJKs timing… currently, they are strict enough , and not abusable at all (like Cammys ones are).
Guile is free on wake up cause the auto correct system is working against him. But it really depends on the player’s ability to time the flash kick as late as possible so it will hit that cross up. And it’s not like Adon can’t be safe jumped, players just need use Adon specific safe jumps which isn’t that hard since Fei long/Ibuki wakes up faster than the rest of the cast too (not as fast as Adon) and people still manages to find ways to safe jump in on to them.
Ibuki specifically is easy as balls to safe jump on because u don’t even have to time it right. Even if you are off on your safe jump timing as long as u jump in just slightly over her head you’ll force her EX DP to whiff any way. Her EX DP has a very shitty vertical hit box and moves her forward so even Balrog can just do dumb shit like jump directly over top of her and if she goes for EX DP she’ll fly in the air like an idiot in the wrong direction and lose. Unless the EX DP auto corrects you’re pretty fucked and it’s not worth the risk. Regardless it starts up in 5 frames so it can be safe jumped traditionally as well
Ibuki IS SUPER FREE on wake up. Fuck faster wake up just jump in that bitches face on wake up and if u block her EX DP u can dash in or focus crumple her FOR FREE. If she doesn’t have meter LOL. Without 3 meters you’re taking a huge risk trying to EX DP with her. I thought C.Viper was free on wake up but generally her EX seismo feint, LK burn kick and back dash allow her to get out of a lot of shit that other characters admittedly can’t quite do. Though when u play Ibuki u realize especially without meter that you are free as fuck. Regardless it’s not a terrible situation for Ibuki to be free on wake up because she has a lot of tools to control space and can land untech knockdown just by landing a jab. The opponent has to be careful about how they deal with you on wake up even if you have no meter because if u hit them with a crouching jab, MP or MK they’ll be the ones having to deal with wake up instead.
