you could always license custom plate builders to use your layout
That wouldnât stop anyone from just making it regardless. There would be less than no point in doing that.
Got my hitbox today (was able to order since Saturday, waitlisted since the 11th), and fired up Tekken 6. It was a bit tough getting the hang of just frame shoryuken motions (for electric wind god fist), but when that first one came out of seemingly nowhere and without any effort at all, I knew that my tekken game had changed forever. Itâs absolutely ridiculous how radical of a change the effort required for doing an electric on a stick is than on a hitbox. What used to hurt my wrist is now just a trivial matter of proper timing. Amazing.
It really helps with Just Frame timing when both of your hands are doing the same motions. With a stick your hand is tilted vertically to hold the stick where as your right hand is naturally facing down to press the buttons, but now both hands are doing the same thing.
I actually started learning Tekken 6 myself since itâs one of the biggest things we get asked to do videos for, and one of the biggest requests is EWGF. When I looked at the move list I almost thought they were joking. Itâs hard to imagine people having difficulty with a DP motion.
Yeah, EWGF should be fairly easy. One I am curious about when my Hit Box gets delivered is JFSR (Hwoarang f~n~d/f:4). There is no room for error with that attack, you must go from forward to neutral to down/forward with absolute precision (if you dp motion at all then you miss the just frame). That and the expection of almost becoming a drummer with the rhythmic motions required to have solid movement in Tekken. So much to be hype about when my Hit Box arrives, itching so much to get started!
Shouldnât be too hard since on Hit Box you always go back to neutral and hitting down, forward and 4 at the same time shouldnât be hard at all. In fact, I think Iâll give that a go right now.
EDIT
Jesus you werenât kidding about how precise that has to be. Iâve had the input display show me I was doing the input perfectly but it still wasnât coming out sometimes. I did manage to get it pretty often though. If I can get it in 5 minutes you should be able to get it consistently with some regular practice.
The thing about executing JFSR is the f, df button press and, most importantly, the TIMING. The problem with stick for this move is that you can easily hit the down, and it takes a while to move from f to df fast and accurate enough because of the wrist. I believe it is easier to do JFSR on pad. However, hitboxes are very precise, so that you run next to no risk of accidentally hitting the down button like on stick. I was looking at my inputs and all of my attempts were perfect f, df+4 inputs. The only thing that made it not work is the bloody timing, which is purposefully a pain in the ass.
So Iâve been playing my hitbox on GGPO and loving it so far, but I ran into a small problem playing offline with it for the first time today. I plugged it into a PS3 and randomly during the middle of the match I would get a pause. This happened about once out of every 3 rounds and seemed to happen most often when doing stuff with fierce punch (fierce dp, etc). I switched the controller port from 2p to 1p and still the same problem. Iâm sure its an easy fix but I have very little electronics/soldering experience so I donât know what to do. Any advice? Iâm guessing a microswitch is getting stuck or something.
Looking forward to the PS360 announcement, been on the waiting list since march, i just hope they donât mind if they get to me early they put my spot on hold for a 2 or 3 week since i hopefully start my new job monday and wouldnât get my first paycheck till the 2nd or 3rd week of october.
Whatâs the word for the ps360+? Will you guys be getting the new boards soon?
Question. Are the new 17" x 7" x 2" boxes going to be the standard?
Thatâs up to Akishop. We canât tell you any more than they can tell you.
Theyâre 16" x 7", and for the moment and the foreseeable future yes.
Does anyone know where I can find an art template for the 16" x 7" hitboxes?
In all likelihood, Iâll be throwing one together. Although, at this point, I think the Hit Box team should take notice of my devotion to making sure their customers have a decent template and provide me with a mathematically accurate one. Kind of the least you could do, guys.
Edit: So now that I finally saved up enough money for a Hit Box, I go online and find out I have been removed from the waiting list, and cant purchase one.
sigh Really?
Is there any chance that we can order one of the smaller sized ones when our order comes up or are they all just going to be that size from now on?
Removed from the waiting list? Are you sure weâre not just out of stock at the moment? Send an e-mail to see whatâs going on, that doesnât sound right.
If we have small cases left over you might get a chance at getting one, but I donât think weâll be making any more of the small cases any time soon.
Thereâs actually no "correctâ way of doing it, itâs just harder. You really need to work out your muscle memory so that youâre hitting down and just down and not hitting left and right at the same time.
right + left + down does equal down though so that should help you out a bit
One question about the ps360+ pcbs. Will you guys implement anything similar to the firmware present on the PS3/PC boards you guys have now? Because itâs sounding like easier half circle motions and SOCD measures are dependent on that firmware.
Weâre going to try to do what we can, but I canât guarantee anything.
