Hit Box - We so S Tier1!

You can rewire the buttons to do that.

The fact that the link is dead makes me REALLY want to know what it said.

Got my Hit Box in the mail, got here with USPS Priority Mail and must have taken 4 business days. Makes sense, since I believe it’s shipped from Nevada and I’m in AZ. Here are my initial impressions:

Pros:

  • Arthur feels easier. I’m constantly jumping around and inputing QCF motions while airborne so he’s cleaner to play now. I previously had some trouble doing super jump -> two QCF+H’s, but it’s definitely easier on the hit box.
  • Clean wavedashes, barely any accidental jabs coming out.
  • Guile flash kicks feel easier.

Cons: Having a bit of trouble getting TK air.QCF motions out… specifically stuff like doing Sentinel’s Hard Drive right off the ground. It’s pretty cake on a stick since it’s 2369+AB, but it doesn’t want to come out on the Hit Box. My guess is that I must be inputting the Up too soon, with my finger still on Down - in which I’ve been reading that inputting Up + Down = Neutral.

Actually, up+down should give you up. I’m going to take a wild guess and say you’re hitting the super too fast. Doing TK Hard Drive is easy for me on stick as well, because I can’t TK fast on stick at all so I get it every time. On Hit Box I actually go too fast if I just go for it and I do the super during the pre-jump frames. Marvel actually has more pre-jump frames than Street Fighter 4, so TK motions are slightly goofier. Here’s two ways to go about doing a TK in MvC3 on Hit Box:

  1. Input the TK normally, but delay when you hit the attacks to activate the super. Physically put a pause in between the inputs.
  2. This one is actually how I TK in Marvel. Simple enough, just jump and do the input as fast as you can. Kind of like a reverse TK if you will.

There’s a new Hit Box for sale on eBay if anyone is interested.

By the way, after using it for a few days, I WAS finally able to get the hang of the odd placement for the jump button, but during the heat of the moment I still want to use it to duck for some reason. I actually considered re-wiring it so the duck and jump buttons are reversed to try it but I’m not good at soldering and I don’t want to screw it up, so I probably won’t.

It wouldn’t require any soldering at all, but I would really recommend that you try to stick it out just a bit more. I know it seems goofy now, but there was a lot of thought put into the placement of the up button, and the more you play with it the more you’ll get used to it and hopefully the more you’ll understand.

I’d stick with it, you can scan through this thread and see my criticisms but after a few days I was converted. I think the learning curves fairly long if you been a stick awhile.

And another in the trading outlet

I’m so bummed about having to wait for my Hit Box. I feel like I’ve been waiting for so long, only to find out I could have had it already. D:

These 360 boxes can’t come soon enough.

TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY

this was second hand info from evo stream chat but I heard it’s really easy to s-link/blink on that new orange te that daigo was using. It could become the new norm, as many people use TEs :xeye:

I just put my name on the waiting list a couple weeks ago. So… I’m guessing I’ll get mine in December or later… and that’s IF they have the PS/360 version being made by then. I feel like it will be worth it to wait and never have to worry about which system I’m playing on.

lol i bought mine from ebay and its dual modded i love it

Thanks for the tips, I will try both. I was using #2 as a work-around and found it seemed to be just as efficient.

Now my latest challenge is inputting DeeJay’s Ultra II (Climax Beat) after a forward dash. I can perform the input by itself without problems, but I’m not sure how to get that much back-charge time from the forward dash. I’m sure there’s something obvious I’m missing since I don’t think I’ve done this on stick, either.

So after a few days with the HB, I have to say the learning curve is pretty severe, but I’m enjoying it overall! 360 characters, rekkas, and consistent super/ultra motions elude me but I’m getting better! You really have to be on point with inputs with this thing!

If I were to buy the PS3/PC HitBox, will I be able to play lagless using a 360 converter?

Sure would

I’m not aware of any PS3 to Xbox 360 converters.

That’s a tricky one. The idea behind it is that you don’t mash for extra hits on the EX MGU, immediately go to down back after doing it, then after that it’s a simple matter of timing it right. Of course to get the ultra to come out after a dash all you have to do is dash as fast as you can, then do a HCB, any up, then ultra. It’s mostly a timing issue, if you work on it, you’ll get it soon enough.
