Hit Box - We so S Tier1!

So was Toxy still using a Hit Box on the tournament? I heard he went back to stick…

Commentators mentioned on the stream that he was using an ordinary stick.

Any news on the status of these hitboxes? They are mathematically sweet. I want to buy one, but don’t know how…

Noodle reporting back.

I like hitbox a lot, especially on tekken. I have not used stick/pad for a while, and my movement is very good w/ hitbox.

Here are some stuff that I’ve noticed so far after months of using it in tekken:

  • Due to its mechanics, there are a lot of u_u/f_u/b immediately after dash in this game that might be a bit awkward compared to more smooth-motion sf. This would take a bit longer to get used to.
  • Learning different character is another learning process of using Hitbox. It’s hard to explain, but you will know once you use it yourself.
  • overall movement input feels “cleaner.” Once you learn to use hitbox, you really can do normal direction very cleanly.
  • diagonal motion is a bit harder to hit if done alone. A few times when I tried to d/f+2, I ended up d+2. The position of the middle/index might need a minor adjustment.

I’m planning to build a hitbox w/ larter right side buttons, but I cannot find a suitable case… Can you guys suggest me w/ any good custom cases that would take the custom faceboard design? Thanks.

Hopefully that “founder’s discount” also comes with a founder’s bonus if we buy 2 sticks (one for each system). Between the old non-mass produced models being dual mod and the non-zero possibility of dual mod in the future, it looks like early adopters post-relaunch may be getting hosed.

What’s the deal with the dual mod? Wasn’t that the new standard for hitboxes? Is that just not happening anymore?

Currently no one has access really to the ps360 boards used to dual mod. It was the plan to be selling these things ASAP but with the boards availability its really difficult to do so. we have approx 200+ boards on preorder right now, as soon as the US gets their hands on it, we will get them and ship the boxes out

Remember guys hit box is a 4 man team. Myself, dustin and shawn huffer, and john grimm. The demand is really high and we are trying our best in order to meet them. the boxes are already made, they just need a board.

We do have however Ps3 hit boxes ready to be sold, remember if your trying to train for evo, Ps3’s are exculsive console being used in that venue.

If you have anymore question feel free to direct them towards myself or John Grimm please.

Look for this thread being updated constantly

I was the Modder at ReveLAtions.
I had people come to me ask to Dual Mod their Hit Box.
But I ran out of Xbox 360 PCB to be able to do the Dual Mods.

Sorry customers of Hit Box.

I’d like to thank everyone who came out to the booth and got a chance to try it out. We had a blast and you guys made our weekend worth it. Also, thanks to everyone for helping me blow up Hype Wild, I’ll be sure to bring it everywhere I go.

Please tell me there weren’t gen2 hitboxes being sold at ReveLAtions that were dual modded.

That would make all of us waiting for a while people apparently waiting way before march which is when I put in my preorder really screwed over.

Pleeeeease tell me there weren’t dual modded gen 2 hitboxes there :frowning:

Only people who got dual mods were tournament winners. Trust me, we already feel bad about not taking care of our online orders, we wouldn’t pour salt on the wound.

Thank you for the reply.

So, do you guys have a realistic idea of when dual modded hitboxes will be available?

I know that since you guys are having supply issues with the tools necessary to make it happen, there is going to be a massive delay. I am guessing this means getting one before EVO is out, which is fine. It actually saves me up some money for some swag in Vegas, so there is a bright side to this

I still want to pick one up ASAP, though, and would love to at least have a ball park idea so I can keep cash ready and waiting for when I can nab these babies.

Keep an eye on Akishop is all I can say about dual mods.

What he’s trying to say is that akishop controls major distribution of the ps360 boards that we use for the duel mods. As soon as those boards are available we WILL show priority to the people who have been patient and also on the wait list as they signed up for one

If you guys really want to just fill the gen2 pre-orders why don’t you guys just pay someone a little to pop in paewang boards if you can’t do it yourself? They’re identical and you know…you could fill orders now instead of waiting and just making more people angry. Hell, Laugh sells wire harnesses for them.

So does this mean there are no hitboxes being produced that are compatible with Xbox360? Also is your website finished and if so can you post a link to it? Thanks

First of all, the Paewang board is already a lot more expensive than pretty much every other board on the market, which would add cost to each box. Second of all, paying someone to do it for us is completely unnecessary, a giant waste of time, and throwing in another party we’d have to deal with if we wanted to produce product, which we really don’t need right now. Lastly, the Paewang takes a lot longer to work with than the boards we’re using now (error checking and fixing especially would take three times longer). I don’t know if you’ve ever had to mass produce a product before, but taking a long time to complete one unit is completely unacceptable and would make it so we’d take forever to get anything done, not to mention we’d have to go out and buy more tools and things more frequently just so we could have everyone working on boards at the same time.

We’d like to fill our pre-orders, but we’d also like to have a process we can keep using into the future so that everyone gets a uniform product instead of everyone with a pre-order gets something we rushed out just so we could get something to them.

At this time no, we do not have a Hit Box that natively supports the 360. There are workarounds to this that you can look up online for free, but if you want a dual modded or 360 box from us you’re going to have to wait a bit. Our website is http://www.hitboxarcade.com

Mad props. I really like how you guys set up the button layouts. I can see that you guys have put a lot of thoughts on where the buttons are located.

The placement of “1” (tz terms, would be weak punch for sf) being right next to “right” as if it’s connected made the “cheating” method of movement possible. Using right index finger sometimes for the movement allows a much more intricate style… I don’t wanna share the detail to the public yet, but if you have time, give it a try.

I am wondering if you guys can give me a rough hitbox layout if the action buttons (right hand side) are 30mm instead of 24? I’ve noticed that the spacing for my right hand is a bit cramped, even for an Asian man like me. XP It would be extremely useful for my future custom hitbox, thank you.

Some important questions for me after I saw this new info.

1)On the keyboard I do a sonic boom this way. I hold down < then I pres > + P without releasing <. Will this work on the hitbox?
That means that blankas ultra1 is keyboard: < (hold), >, > + PPP instead of stick: <, >, <, > + PPP . Will < (hold) > > PPP work on a hitbox?
2)Did you “fix” that by changing PCB? Are there pcbs that send < + > = neutral and others that don’t or is it something you fixed in another way? Does someone know whitch pcbs send < + > = neutral instead of < + > = application selected (example sf4 will move towards opponent and won’t go neutral)

Not sure if you meant it this way, but thanks for coming off as a huge jerk, it’s appreciated. It was merely a suggestion so that you could fill orders for people now instead of having to sit and wait for something that is still tentative in finish date (and even that’s a ways off). If you’ve got someone that can solder, mounting and attaching to a paewang takes very little time since everything is laid out hella nice. (Have 1 guy do the soldering, the others do daisy chains, etc.) I have no stake in this, it just seems like there’s a lot of customers waiting and it seems like a viable option. I’m sure your customers would appreciate the extra effort on your end, but the answer of “well…we’re waiting on x and y” seems to be working pretty good for you now, so go with that. I know the customers who got their stuff sold at Revelations are extra happy with that model.

Price wise, they’re identical unless you’re counting “pre order” pricing from focusattack. Laugh would probably get you quantity discounts too. Just food for thought.

I think it’s great that people are interested in this, It would just be a shame for you guys to lose customers from the waiting.
