Toodles has really helped out in controlling SOCD’s for PS3. Although most tournaments run MvC3 on Xbox, our PS3’s prevent block exploitations on older titles and remove any inconsistency in SOCD’s that happen from game to game. I am working on getting this same behavior for our PS360 Hit Box so there is consistent behavior across all fight boards I put out. Nothing solid yet, but it’s my expectation. My lobbying has not paid off for controlling SOCD’s on the software side, so I’m doing everything I can on the firmware end to do my part. Thanks again, Toodles.
I can confirm that Hit Boxes and all fight boards are legal for Revelations in June. Same for every other tournament in the L.A. area. I haven’t spoken with Mr. Wizard directly, but I’m not aware of any problems with EVO, especially since everything is on PS3.
Hit Boxes are still officially halted until Revelations. I’m working very hard in the meantime.
@ Amp: Thank you for writing that PSA. My only critique is that my last name is “Huffer.”
@DeathReaper: I sent you an e-mail earlier.
@JohnGrimm: Thanks for staying involved; I really appreciate your help on everything.
Fixed, what’s your brother’s name again so I can credit him?
Again, the PSA is still only truly in a draft state. Anyone who wants to contribute or edit is encouraged to contact me via PM or either this or the other thread with their input, or even via PM. I protected the doc from anyone being able to edit so that it wouldn’t get troll-edited.
And yes, I’m loving MK9 on my controller. Although, I’m thinking of converting to using a real keyboard with a console converter (and repping spacebar=jump, Hit Box Style). I just paid for that new and I’m waiting for it to ship now. That thing looks so sexy.
Didn’t think that something like this would be possible. But it looks awesome, although I do think that the learning curve for this type of stick would be very high
some things were instant, some weren’t but I’m a slow learner. I think if you can do button techniques like pianoing, hhs, plinks, etc. it would come easily
I’ll have to start playing back at tournaments next year then, this thing will let me play again with my left wrist injury. Jumping on these things after Revolutions.
This looks really awesome and I really want to try it, but I imagine there’s a market for people who have TE sticks (ie, me, for example) and just want a plexi and a modified harness cable to mod their existing sticks, rather than buy a whole new stick altogether… right?
I hope it’s the case. I enjoy using an arcade stick, but on top of it’s inefficiency, it’s also not very cost effective. Also, I like the dimensions of my TE stick.
Just wanted to request from Husser_Brian that after Revelations when the hitboxes are being shipped again if some tutorial vids can be made. I mean it seems easy enough to use but I figured after so much time working with it they’ve developed some nice ways to execute commands.
If you check the first post and the video titled “The Basics,” Dustin goes over how to do just about every motion in the game. There’s no words, but if you watch his hands he slowly goes over how to do each motion.
Really wanting to get my “fingers” on this. Definitely looks like it’d be a blast to play with it. It’ll be hard to wait until Revelations is over to get info on purchasing one of these things… Wonder how long that’ll be too
PS - If anyone wants to sell their hitbox, send me a pm and I’ll get back to you ASAP
