So either what he told me multiple times was a lie or he just isn’t gonna contact me again until June.
Gotta say, this is kinda annoying from the consumer point of view

I’m not sure what system the hitbox you ordered was for, but mine was the PS3/PC mod. Unfortunately, the PS3/XBox/PC tri mod was sold out.
I do understand your frustration Death. I was waiting along with you until I got mine after all. But allow me to put some perspective for their sake. When we were finishing shipping details for my box, we found out that I lived in the same town as Shawn, Brian’s brother. Instead of charging me for shipping, I offered to pick it up. Now I was under the impression that I was going to pick it up at a warehouse or manufacturing facility. But nope, the address given was Shawn’s house.
What I’m trying to say is that we’re literally witnessing a business right at its most basic form here. All businesses need time to grow to match their demand. They just need that time. I had a lengthy conversation with Shawn before I left his place and rest assured, anything they have makes its way to the customers as soon as humanely possible. All we can do is give them the courtesy.
Yea at this point we need to be patient, June is not that far off. For me the product is worth the wait.
I just want to know that my name hasn’t been lost in the shuffle since somehow someone who ordered after I did was contacted about receiving one. I assumed the wait was just long but hopefully I haven’t been forgotten. I still have the original email I received if needed. But either way I do understand and am still willing to be patient. I truly am just exited about the Hitbox and wish you guys all the best with the business.
I’m not sure the exact words that were said to you, however I can only assume that when they were said it was the truth. Back in February I’m pretty sure the only thing that was going on was building boxes, but now things have changed. We’re getting a lot of attention from tourney organizers, Dustin is all over the place competing trying to show off the capabilities of the Hit Box, and now we’ve got to plan for future events.
Things were much easier when it was just, “Take order, make box, ship box.” Now it’s, “Take order, place in list, plan for ReveLAtions, get booth ideas finalized, plan for EVO, contact tourney organizers for possible marketing, get materials for more boxes, work on improvements to Hit Box design, find time to make boxes.” If you were promised a box and didn’t get it yet, I apologize, it was not our intention to keep people waiting, however we cannot at this time continue production, so I just ask that you wait just a little bit longer.
Then I would have just liked if he told me flat out “Hey, don’t have any hitboxes right now, wait until June, you’ll be one of the first to get it” instead of leading me on for weeks and then completely dropping out of contact with potential customers.
Just put yourself in my position: this thing you’ve REALLY wanted for months is said to be in your hands finally, and then…nothing. No contact, no anything.
It’s just a little annoying, ya know?
I get what you’re saying and I understand entirely, but you have to keep in mind at the moment there are exactly 2 people who build boxes right now, one of them is competing and the other has to focus on his day job at the moment. We’re starting to expand, I myself am starting to get into building boxes to relieve stress on the Huffer brothers.
Dustin is the only one who has access to the Hit Box e-mail and he’s the busiest out of all of us and there’s a bunch of people who made orders, so it would be a bit tedious to send a message to everyone, which is why he made the post here saying everything has stopped till ReveLAtions.
I apologize and I wish we had the resources to just take care of everything, but for now you’ll just have to wait for ReveLAtions.
Hey JohnGrimm, you seem to be in regular contact with the brothers.
I guess I should assume that since he’s getting in contact with TO’s he’s also talking about the SOCD issue with certain games?
Now that my extent of the research and writing the first draft of my PSA is done does this mean I can kinda sit back now and concentrate on other things again?
Indeed, the SOCD issue has been discussed to death, and seeing as how the only major issues are in Marvel, and TO’s I guess don’t see them issues as game breaking (most players agree as well) no one seems to have a problem with it. And after getting my new Hit Box, I can still confirm that all official Hit Boxes built by the Huffer brothers are SOCD safe. All left right inputs default to right, all down up inputs default to up right. You cannot cheat on an official Hit Box.
Hey guys, I bought a Hitbox from Dustin just recently. I tested it and I prefer stick, so if anybody wants to buy it just send me a pm. So CAL only
You got the second (plexi/metal?) model or the first (wood) model?
What if I were to pay to have it shipped to texas?
Meh, I need one that plays on 360 as well, not just PS3/PC. Let my fellow Texan Amp have it, I’ll just wait for ReveLAtions.
Shouldn’t all Hit Box models auto-detect?
I hope this isn’t something they’ll be upset that I mention, but you should know, and may want to put into the PSA, that there are HitBox specific model Cthulhus, and I can verify 100% that they are shenanigan-free. Up has priority over down, left and right cancel out, and directions are sent as both left analog and dpad. I even offered to try to implement shenanigans and they refused. HitBoxes using this model Cthulhu are both completely legit and HitBox tailored. They’re gonna be awesome.
it’s ps3
The new models aren’t exactly atuo-detect. You hold select for about 5 seconds and it will detect the console.
As I recall all Hit Boxes work on PS3. Is it the Mark I wood case or the Mark II metal case?
Is this a firmware thing?
When I was at Arkansas Regional Knockouts I went ahead and paid Duckie to dual-mod my controller so that I could use it to play the MK demo while I was there (and I still don’t trust my modding skills THAT much yet). I think he said he used the Chimp SMD.
Do you know if updates to the Chimp firmware could go to that behavior?
metal case
I’m looking into small form factor sticks and these caught my eye. What are the current dimensions of the hitbox?
The latest model of Hit Box is going to be roughly 12" wide, 6" long, 1.5" deep. Since the cases are hand made there’s about a leeway of +/- .25" in any given dimension.
Yup, its a firmware thing. Very doable for MC’s and ChimpSMDs, just havent done it yet.
