Hi i want to build a stickless Arcade stick since i am not in the us and so I cannot buy one.
Being a keyboard user and playing sf4 a lot for 2 years I believe a transition to something like hitbox will be cooler than an arcade stick for me. I would like to ask the people who use a stickless arcade stick and where previously keyboard players
1)How hard is it to get used to up button being thumb located instead of a keyboard type setting
2)Do you prefer to do it like a keyboard (meaning movement right side and hitting left side) or a standard hitbox way.
I am really worried that i will be getting my ass kicked for a long time. How easy was keyboard transition to that?
First thing I would like to mention is that we ship everywhere, even if youāre not in the US we can get it to you, although shipping is going to be expensive. Secondly, I was a keyboard player for years before the Hit Box and it took me all of 10 minutes to get used to the jump button.
As for the keyboard layout you mentioned, I always played with movement on the left, so it might be odd for you if you played on the arrow keys or something.
You might want to head over to Tekken Zaibatsu and talk to Noodlehead, but from what I hear EWGF is much easier on Hit Box.
Will the sticks you have after ReveLAtions have a custom artwork option?
Also, since it has been a while since a lot of people, me included, requested a stick, I was wondering if you guys had a list of āpriorityā going on, in order from who the first one to request a stick post-production of the first run to now?
Custom artwork is definitely something weāre looking at, but I canāt say anything for certain as of yet. Thereās always more traditional means of getting your own custom artwork for now, although in most cases youāll have to cut the holes out yourself.
As for order priority, we work on a first come first serve basis, so those who placed their orders first will have top priority when we start shipping out boxes again. You can place an order any time you want and weāll ship it to you as soon as possible after Revelations, or you can come to Revelations and skip the line entirely and buy from us there.
I placed my request for an order back in early-mid march, so I should be in a good spot in line.
If you donāt mind, can you PM me to let me know if you guys still have my request? I know you guys probably got flooded with order requests, so I just want to know if I still got my spot secured
Well Dustin is the one who has access to the e-mail, and heās usually pretty busy. If youāre afraid you lost your spot just save your sent e-mail where you placed your order and everything should be fine. We donāt delete e-mails, so you really have nothing to worry about anyways.
i can see the device being potentially āperfectly accurate?ā .
but im too judgemental to give those funny lookin ass four buttons a real try.
besides i dont want to use all 4 main fingers on either hand.
and im too lazy to try and figure out how feasable 3 finger combinations would pan out.
If itās your first time playing on a button based controller your fingers will be confused because you donāt have the muscle memory for the motions down yet. Itāll go away over time and eventually you wonāt even think about what your fingers are doing, theyāll just do whatever it is youāre trying to do naturally.
Who builds these⦠Iāve been tryin to get ahold of someone to build me one⦠but with keyboard keys instead of buttonsā¦
i keep getting the run around with ppl tellin me theyāll get back to meā¦
iāll pay good money for one exactly how i wantā¦
if anyones interested pm me or im me on aim paperbagofwater
First of all, it is better. Especially in terms of 360ās, instant divekicks, and super jumps.
However the learning curve is still there. I was semi-proficient on keyboard, and hitbox is a definitely different, but it is superior.
Btw, I am playing hitbox by simply mapping the Up direction to spacebar rather than W. Closest simulation to it.
looks really interesting. Sent my questions to your gmail but will this be at EVO to buy/see?
Has it already been adopted by tourney players and if so the person using it⦠How far in the tourney did they make?
im not gunna disagree but i believe it is all in the players preference, some games are different for others⦠still any game i would do awsd as the movement. its more natural to me and iām trained more to it, the muscle memory is already there since i started playing fighters on pc. now for someone that has never used the awsd method⦠it would be much easier like learning to write left handed or right handed. just think of it as this awsd is like left handed ppl of fighters not many of them. i like awsd very much. the spacebar/alt keys are more like the RT</R2L2 of the controller. they can be slapped very quickly with your thumbs, it eliminates having a fourth column on your attack buttons. the disadvantage i see in using arcade buttons in the awsd layout is that there is alot of space in between buttons. which adds hundredths of a second to the time of input.
if i am ever to get a hit box made i preferably want it made with old school keyboard keys⦠loud clanky. i lovem. once you learn that beautiful combo⦠youll here the sound⦠at times youāll end up hearing a rhythm being played within your combo and youll start listenin more for that sound. idk its just how i learned. 4 years of highschool in computer tech playing umk3 and SFII on emulators⦠things got heated⦠was weird how there was a scene of like 40 ppl within our school lol
i own with rain⦠rord will they bring rain to MK9 ⦠preaze rord
Weāre still working out things past Revelations. At the very least Iād like to bring a setup to run in some corner somewhere just so people could try it out. So far in the tourney player category we had Kurasa play on one for 15 minutes and go 4-2 at a SSFIV tourney in the mid-west and Noodlehead got pretty far in the brackets in Tekken 6 at Power Up in Ohio. There could be more Iām not aware of, but those are the ones I know about. Then thereās the upcoming Hit Box Challenge for TTC|ToXY at Revelations. Iām confident heās going to do very well.
I noticed Toxy was at WNF last night, and noticed he was using standard gear. Do you know if heās just saving the shock factor (or sadly, the potential lack thereof) for Revelations?
