Hit Box - We so S Tier1!

All personal preferences, for many people they are faster and more precise with the move execution.
You can tap out directions very quickly, that said the Hit Box can take some getting used to.
People who play Street fighter on lets say their PC keyboard or play piano can pick it up easier than someone who used to a stick.

Some additional things to consider, if you plan on modding it in the future, or even if not:
+: These things are built incredibly well. Short of maybe the Panzers, you aren’t gonna get anything quite as durable.
+: You can do some really cool stuff with art, due to the unique layout.
+: Good amount of room to add more PCBs and such.
-: Art likes warping under the plexi. Only a factor if you plan on adding custom art, of course, but be warned.

  • 24mm! Despite being a button-based input device, you are severely limited compared to 30mm as far as your options for switches and such. We don’t have options for RG switches, our only Cherry option is Gamerfinger who add silencers to all their buttons, which results in a very unique feel that unfortunately might not match what you’re after, and we’re very limited on the color selections.

I absolutely adore my Hit Box, and would highly recommend one. It’s a very satisfying layout, makes wonderful noises, and I have tons of fun playing with it. If you like hitting buttons more than waggling a stick, it’s the way to go.

I’m really surprised that no ones opened up their next PS4 or Xbox one hitbox and posted a picture of the PCB yet. The secrecy surrounding it has really piqued my curiosity. my understanding is that those versions are made in China as opposed to the other versions made in the US. there must be some legal or copyright issue that I’m not quite picking up on. maybe theyre breaking some exclusive contract deal with a previous board maker? My best guess is that they use some alternate or unlabeled version of the Brook board. They say ‘in house’ board but I’m not buying it.

People have posted pictures in other threads. If people want to post them here feel free to do so, but I think it hasn’t happened because it’s more of a hassle than it’s actually worth.

Also I’ll tell you right now we don’t use the Brook board, it’s a different board made in a different factory with a different design. Is it the same technology as the Brook board? Most likely. You know how China is, you hand blueprints to one factory and somehow the factory across town is making the same thing. We wouldn’t lie about something so stupid, it doesn’t matter where the boards come from as long as we have a supply, we wouldn’t hide the fact that we were using Brook boards if we actually were.

The boards are nothing special. Here’s xb1:

ps4 is definitely some version of Brook

I know the Hitbox crew have been busy with everything but I’ve been having a problem and i was wondering if anybody had a solution.

I’ve had my hitbox controller intermittently lose signals in the right direction button. I bought 2 new USB cables and tried them and it still happens. I’ve also tried new buttons and that won’t work. I put them in a new USB hub and that won’t work. My other hitbox controller (I have 2) did it briefly but not as often. I don’t think it’s a “turbo” feature as I haven’t held start.

It doesn’t happen in other games, just SFV. It tends to happen online though.

Has anybody had this happen in this way? If so, what do you think it could be? Many of my buttons are connected wire-wise so I’m not sure it’s even that.

sounds like the wacky pcb they are using, several users are saying the same thing

Weird because I don’t have this problem anywhere else. So is this SFV related or could I do a firmware update?

You should already have updated firmware otherwise you would timeout after 8 mins.

Yea that’s what I would think. I use mine in Xbox mode, but my PS360 says 1.00. I know there’s a 1.31 but I’ll just assume it’s SFV then.

Thanks. I might contact you about some hitbox custom design since it seems you do those.

I was under the impression you had a ps4 hitbox. Your timeout will always be 8 mins with the ps360+.

since hes using it in xbox mode he must be playing on pc?

Or SFIV and SFV, and UMvC3, and practically any modern fighter with shortcuts.

I never, ever liked the default FightStick/Vewlix button size and spacing. I could use it just fine, but it never felt right to me (I actually have long fingers too!). After using the 24mm buttons, the only way I would ever go back to using a stick is if I could have a custom panel made with the same 24mm buttons and spacing. Those that have not played with them really do not know what they are missing. Not only do your hands perfectly align with them, it feels like due to the size and because of the relaxed nature of your fingers, they require even less force to depress than the already responsive 30mm buttons.

Without a Cronus or Brooks, I would think so.

Sorry, I’m using the PS360 version. I thought you could upgrade it to 1.31 but I don’t see that anywhere.

Also I never knew of a timeout when I used it on my PC. I’ve never had my controller stop working or have I had the buttons disable and I could leave it plugged in indefinitely. That’s a first for me if that’s the case. I didn’t have any buttons disable last night with my other controller. I was reading about the timeout since you have mentioned it and I thought it had something to do with the PS4.

Yes I am.

I think Vicko thought you were playing on ps4.
if your Hitbox has a ps360+, you can update it. see Akishop website

Is this the correct page?

http://akishop-customs.com/PS360.html

yes

So do I extract into a folder and then choose to update drivers for my device? Should I plug it in PS360 mode to do this and then go to device manager?

Thanks again.

i was considering picking one of these devices up specifically for PC street fighter 5. after looking at the pcb lag test thread, i was curious about the best available option for pc exclusive play (NO/LOW LAG is extremely important to me).

thank you for your time!

edit: what faceplate screws are on the various hitbox models? would like to avoid any potential ring rust from humidity.

Someone on my forum pointed out the instructions I missed for the firmware stuff because I was looking at the hardware information. It’s all done.

Thanks again guys.

Still getting dropped inputs but now they’re attack inputs. I’m just waiting for a game update. Shame it was released in this state as I have no problems anywhere else.
