Hit Box - We so S Tier1!

Wow, awesome!

I can’t wait!

Looks like a really sweet distance between everything there too (that’s really crazy important on a hitbox I think, moreso than regular sticks)

that s f-ing sexy…must buy hitbox.

Hey guys,

I tried mailing you at hitboxes@gmail.com, but haven’t received a response yet. I’m guessing it’s because you’re overwhelmed with orders. Any chance on getting in on the fun? :woot:

Thanks!

The wait really is a killer, but your strive towards perfection is much appreciated. Honestly. I think we can all live if the end result is a masterpiece.

Can’t wait til the day we all come into the tournament open with these babies.

My spacing is (obviously) off on the directions, but anybody else having issues inputting :b::d::db:? (due to having less ring finger dexterity) Hopefully practice and time will make it easier, but I’ve been having a bit of trouble inputting that quickly during combos.

Obviously, I don’t have one yet, but at times, I would practice and see what it’s like to have one. I turn my TE stick to the side to get a similar feel for the buttons on a hit box.

I have a similar issue as yours, but it somewhat helped me to twist my wrist with the motion. Eventually I want to get out of this habit with practice since I’m paranoid that it causes an unnecessary delay in my input as opposed to fingers alone.

Just had a random thought…

I wonder if something like that might help. (basically ensures your ring finger is bent more than the index and middle) That way you could (I think) use your wrist to basically control your ring finger. Not sure if it’s a good idea though.

@LhetGou - Neat thought with your layout, but I think you’ll find using 24mm Sanwa buttons to be the best option to make the 421 motion very easy. 30mms make your fingers too far spread apart to comfortably do the motions, and Happ competition buttons have too hard of a spring, plus they are not momentary contact, which means that you have to fully depress the button to make the connection. Sanwa OBSF-24 are just big and small enough, plus you barely have to press the button to get the move out.
When I do my DPMs, I just barely kiss the 4 or 6 direction, then straight up plink 21 or 23. The whole motion is insanely fast. Yes, it does take some experience to master, but that’s just like anything else in fighters. In the beginning there is a dependency on which side of the screen you’re on, but it goes away, unlike stick. My dragon punches and half circles are equal on both sides.

EDIT: There shouldn’t be any wrist motion involved in anything with the Hit Box. Everything should be done with just the fingers. It’s all set up to where you don’t have to move really.

@ Mr. Cannon: Sorry I haven’t responded to your e-mail yet. I’ve been busy with the all sorts of crazy stuff. I’ll be sure to respond to any and all e-mails tonight. Sorry again!

Glad everyone is liking the boxes! I can’t wait to start shipping them out soon.

How about some dual vids of mvc3 (screen and hands)? I would love to see how the hitbox holds up with it since that’s the game i’ll be playing for a long time. Since mvc3 is so hype right now it would give you guys a great deal coverage and advertisement.

Oh yeah just wanted to say, great job!

It’s finally more than wires and tape. It has screws now, too! Gutted my 360 Round2 TE for parts, did a bit of soldering, wished I had a drill press, ate an entire 5’ sheet of plexi trying to get things perfect and PRESTO.

Stick + Hitbox Ambidextrous Combo. Everything functions super-nice, and the PCB in the TE actually allows Up and Down to be pressed simultaneously. Original guide and turbo panel is hidden away under the bottom panel, mounted on an L-bracket for some easy reach-around access.

Kudos to the Hitbox guys for the whole “Up is Thumb” thing. It’s done wonders for my game over standard ArrowKeys/WASD, and the Sanwa buttons are extra-responsive.

Seriously, I can play anything I like on this now with no problem. It really is the best. T T

That truly is the beauty of the hit box, you can play any FG. Inputs for games can be so vastly different and require different types of execution, which is why some FGs or atleast some characters in FGs seem easier on a pad or on a stick but the hit box truly seems to work for any type of inputs a character might have.

is the stick for possible ban or do you use both at the same time?

Nah. It’s just there in case I want to use it.

MvC3 plays just fine. Piece of cake.

Will definitely consider one of these since I fail at sticks…

Well, 2mro I will be ordering a metal panel for my TE with a variation of the hitbox layout. I’d like to document my experience and journey on video, but I lack a respectable camcorder.
I highly doubt posting up a thick message of it will get much attention.

Excited to get that to you

this would so help me terrible charge character game.

Heard rumors that you can block crossups by holding left and right. Is this true? I heard it atleast works in Guilty Gear, but does it work in the big games like SSFIV, MvC3, BB, etc?

Not theoretically possible. When you press both left and right at the same time, either the game registers it as neutral, or gives priority to right (no longer reads left, even though you are holding it)
This is there to prevent cheating from people using controllers like this.
