just got a hitbox and pad hacked it to work on xbox one for killer instinct. I’m finding quarter circles to the left to be a bit uncomfortable. thinking about reversing the down and left button. anyone ever consider something like this? add far as I know there’s no full circles or half circles in killer instinct, so it should be OK right?
Just do a google/youtube search for finger dexterity exercises guitar/piano.
I’m a guitarist of 25 years and the fightboard layout came so naturally to me because of the dexterity I already have.
The more you practice the faster you will progress.
I just recommend doing everything as slow as you can or the game will allow, then speed things up little by little.
It will all become semi-instant after a while.
After playing hitbox for a while I only have problems still trying to cancel into 236236 supers from lights in KoF, and doing things in GG like 6p 63214214HS.
To be honest I tried hand strengthening exercises, and dexterity exercises, but none were as effective as just practicing and playing on the actual hitbox itself, and more importantly just realizing it will take months and months to adapt.
Stick used to give me RSI, but I don’t get that anymore, so it was all worth it.
my hand is actually really sore today. also, as my hand fatigued, I started shifting it over to the left for left quarter circles, so I’d start with my left index finger on the down button followed by my middle finger on the left button. it it a bad idea to move my hand around like that?
Is there a way to hook up a microphone to the hitbox? I know there isn’t a jack, but if there’s a way to split open the wires and hard wire it onto the PCB, please let me know. I’ve had my hitbox for a year now and not being able to chat with a few buddy’s is getting old.
Feel free to send me a private message if some handy work is needed to be done.
A friend moves his hands to do it, but the way I see it it just would take more time. Almost everyone plays without moving your hand, so take a break for a day or two then try again.
I’m assuming you have ps360+ (xbox) model? if so there’s a mic jack right on the ps360+ pcb that’s inside your hitbox. the other version has a PS3 Cthulu and I don’t know any way to hook up a headphone jack to it.
I honestly wouldn’t advise doing that. Your inputs will have additional delay from having to move your hand around and it’s honestly a bad habit. If you can, you should really practice the standard way of doing inputs until you’re comfortable with it. Then after that if something is easier to you, feel free to experiment. But you should really learn the standard way of doing things first.
If your hands are getting tired, it could be that you don’t have much finger/grip strength. You can get one of those grip tools from any store or the finger strengtheners for musicians.
Also, the great thing about finger dexterity exercises is that in most cases, you don’t need to have a Hit Box in front of you to practice. You can do them anywhere, at work, at school, on the bus, while walking, any time. One that I do often is touching my fingertips to my thumb. If you label your fingers by number starting as index 1, middle 2 up to pinky 4, just tap your fingertip on your thumb one at a time first going 1234, then 4321, then patterns like 1324, 4231, then doubles, 1+2 3+4 1+2 3+4, 1+3 2+4 1+3 2+4 and so on. Start off slow and work your way up until you’re going so fast you make a mistake then start over. The goal is to be able to tap quickly without mistakes.

can someone help me with getting the buttons out? im trying to remove the quick disconnects but i feel like i going to break them. Im retty burly and im afraid im putting too much force on it but they dont come off D:
I pull the quick disconnects with a small pliers. unfortunately you do have to pull hard and there is a possibly of breaking them. Be extra careful not to pull them by the wires cause those are very easy to break off.
I’ve has some strange pc issues as well. for me it only works in some USB ports and not others. try it in different ports and different computers. you can also try holding down light punch when plugging in to force PS3/PC mode or hold down medium punch button when plugging in to force xbox360 mode. one of those modes might work better on PC for you.
