Alrighty. Now this really looks like my type of rig, right here. Soon as I get more money to play around with after my tax return, I could see myself getting to know the HitBox better for myself.
Currently waiting for my email letting me know that my time in queue is almost up. After reason alot of the reviews from people who have gotten theirs, i am really excited for it. Just sad i probably wonāt be getting it until a few weeks or months after MvC3.
Waiting for my reply as well. Iām very interested in this since Iām in a limbo with my execution. I canāt dash on command to save my life on a stick. But Iām limited on what I do on pad as well. This seems like the best of both worlds.
I wanted to post video of me playing MvC3 on Hit Box at the L.A. Fight Club last night, but the security guard caught me. That guy deserves a raise. I was way up on the far balcony and he was way across the whole venue. I think he thought I was stealing or something. So closeā¦
Thanks to everyone who is patiently waiting. Weāll have our new cases coming in a few weeks from now. If the first batch turns out as good as Iām thinking, weāll get a ton more so this waiting list can end! Iāll be sure to have lots of pics to share when the time comes.
Will you continue making hitboxes as you have been until then or will you hold off on it until the new cases come in? Also will they be effecting the price any?
I sent you an emailā¦let me know
Also emailedā¦looking forward to developments
Hey guys, sorry not to respond to your posts. Iāve been fulfilling 10 different roles lately, and I tend to do things in waves, rather than balance. Iām sure Iāve responded to everyoneās e-mails though. Checking up on the thread slips me sometimes.
Everything is looking good so far. By the end of the month Iāll have lots of pictures and detailed info on our new cases. They may affect our price, but not by too much. We want to keep it as minimal as possible. Weāll let you know when we have everything ready to show you. But when it comes down to it, these are going to look really nice. Theyāre going to be all metal with a powder coat of black paint. The top will be plexi with artwork underneath. Canāt wait!
Tonight Iām taking off of building though. Iāve been waiting since October to play Marvel 3 on a Hit Box, even before we had the name Hit Box or any real notion of what might come of it all. Tonight is the night, and I aināt going to sleep.
Hey i sent you an email but you never responded. I wanted to pick up a stickā¦ehhh hit box.
Sounds great, i really canāt wait to see what your new boxes will look like. Also with the art that you plan on putting under the case, and plans to have it so people can request certain art for it or perhaps provide their own for you to use on it? Also i look forward to seeing MvC3 videos on your hitbox
Awesome, Husser. Have fun with the game. Itās the release of Marvel that finally pushed me to buy one of these boxes. If I have execution problems with the stick on SSF4, how in the world am I supposed to compete in an even more fast paced game like marvel?
If it was possible, could you enlighten us as to how many people are on the wait list? Iām merely curious about my order than anything, haha. But if thatās sensitive info, feel free to keep that to yourself.
Iāve been thinking about how to better my execution for 360 characters (Gief/Hakan/Hawk/etc.). After putting more thought into it, I think a WASD-Style layout might actually better for that kind of character. Youāre not crossing NEARLY as many streams as you would with the hitbox layout , since with the hit box each direction has its own individual finger, but with a WASD layout, up and down are controlled by the same one, so the chances of hitting both at once are a lot more slim.
That said, on my Hit Box layout I can do dash-buffered 720ās. So itās far from impossible, but itās something you might consider.
Just WOW! I mean just AMAZING!!
Hit Boxers unite because Marvel 3 is built for us. I spent the entire weekend jigging out X-23ās wave dash and rushing down like mad with Phoenix. Iām going to try to have a Jig-out-Marvel-3-on-your-Hit-Box vid for you guys this weekend if I can get the time.
Iām in full control playing the game and itās just nuts. Everything I hoped it would be.
Thanks to New SRK Storm Wiki I discovered how to get the fastest overhead in fighting game history (seriously).
PRO TIP: Pick storm, double tap the jump button, press Jumping A.
Whatever the frames are for her jumping LK plus whatever the plink time is to jump and cancel her jump into float mode is one fast overhead. Her crouching light kick is fast too, so if youāre inside, you pretty much canāt be blocked.
I didnāt plan on playing storm until like 5 minutes ago and and ran over to you guys to share the news giggling like a little girl. I couldnāt do it on stick, and I couldnāt do it by pressing jump twice really fast with my thumb. You need to double tap to cancel into float mode fast enough to hit a crouching opponent with light kick.
Since normal tri-jumps donāt work with storm, this is just a ridiculous alternative. Just simply pivot your left Index and Middle finger to plink the jump button. VOILA!
If youāre not so hot on double tap with your left hand yet, just press Up, Up, S and youāll do a really fast overhead clean and easy. Super easy on Hit Box.
I was playing X-23, Wolverine, and Phoenix, but I just kicked Wolvie for Storm!
Phoenix has a traditional tri-jump thatās really fast, and Dormammu has a decent tri-jump too for fast overheads. Thor as well, though I canāt close space with him safely well yet, but heās cool. Overall thereās all sorts of really cool tricks and new things. Hit Box handles them all at super speeds.
X-factored Dark Phoenixās high-low game is the funnest thing Iāve done in a fighter maybe ever.
Also,
If anyone wants to try out a Hit Box in SoCal, come to Wednesday Night Fights. Iāll be bringing my PS3 and at least one Hit Box. Iām low this week, so Iāll only have one extra Hit Box, but once we get our new case style in, Iāll be sure to have 2, and hopefully bring more setups in the future.
Edit: Itās even easier than double tapping with your Left middle + indexā¦
Just double tap with both your thumbs LOL. Right-left really quick. So awesome!!! Who would have thought?
I think Iām ready to make the switch asap but how different is that metal version youāre working on?
I Searched through the entirety of this thread, but couldnāt find a definitive answer to my question, so I made an account JUST to ask this.
I am on the waiting list for a Hit Box (or whatever its final name will be) and I simply cannot wait to use it. In my excitement, I began creating my stickart for it, only to realize I havenāt a clue what size it is or what template I should follow.
That being said, has anybody posted a template (in Photoshop or any image format) for this? I would really like to create without worrying that my art will look terrible on the actual product when I receive it. I am a perfectionist, so thereās no way Iām attempting this feat without a template.
How are the new cases coming? Any idea when theyāll be for sale?
Ditto.
Also, would it be possible to make a different layout with the UP/JUMP button on the left side of the other movement buttons, so it could be used by the pinky? Would it cost extra? Do you guys have any plans in the future to make different layouts if itās not possible right now?
Um, hey, Iām a newbie when it comes to modding stuff, and I have some questions. Iām trying to mod my SE into a hitbox, and I have no idea how to re-wire the stick to work with buttons. My Dad happens to have experience working on arcade games, so Iām getting him to help me. Thing is, though, he thinks he just needs to take the wires that go into the stick are put them on buttons isntead. That makes sense in theory, but I couldnāt help but notice in the pictures Iāve seen of hitboxes that the joystickās PCB is always kept in with the new direction buttons wired to it. So, what do we need to do? Whatās necessary for this to work?
Thanks in advance.
- Take cable running to stick
- Snip off 5-pin connector
- Figure out which wire is ground, and which are signals
- Daisy-chain 3 more wires to your ground wire
- Connect your signal wires to buttons
If you canāt figure out which is which, look at the board. It will tell you.
