Ah, not on me. Now that I think about it, I think I got the black one at Lowes.
Also, the screws they provide are far too long to work on this case. You would need to either buy a bunch of washers, or find a shorter screw+washer to use.
Yea I picked up a silver one yesterday and after getting it home and taking it out of the package tonight I realized the provided screws are far too long, but that makes since considering they are supposed to go through thick cabinet doors. I’ll probably take the one I got back to home depot and swing over to the lowes and see if I can find a black one and some shorter screws.
Any word on the new Hitboxes that will support Xbox One and PS4? If I bought a Hitbox now, would it be possible to mod it to support the new systems in the future? Could I pay to send it back to upgrade?
Anyone have tips for strengthening/loosening my left ring finger? It’s pretty weak compared to the other ones, although after 4 days of practicing on the hitbox its starting to slowly loosen up.
Other than physical conditioning (grip exercises, a pull-up program, etc.)… I don’t have any real answers either. (Ain’t nobody got time for slow, deliberate practice.)
There are things you can do to get around double-tapping with it, such as crouching SOCD Ultra or “clutch” Shoryuken. Though this is sort of avoiding the problem… That finger will sometimes wig out on me anyway for the simplest things.
I have been doing reps a high quality gripper a few times a week, this seems to affect mostly my forearm and the tendons in my hand, but not finger dexterity/individuality. It’s great for stretching the hand though. I’ve been doing a few finger individuality exercises but I’m not sure if its them that are helping or just me getting more used to the hitbox and doing lots of careful deliberate input repetitions in training room.
I will try picking up one of those type of grippers you posted above though, to see how well it works. It looks interesting because it exercises fingers individually.
One thing I should have expected but didn’t is how far the hitbox would move me back execution-wise. I’m having to re-learn basically every combo, although it doesn’t take as long as it did the first time. I do feel like I have more control for the most part however. And movement like dashing, running, and sidestepping in both 3d and 2d is SOOO MUCH EASIER that alone is worth it. I also find it much much easier to switch between standblocking and crouchblocking, which is important for all the hop/low shit people do in KoF. Likewise, combos that require you do do something like 2b 2b 5b 3d are MUCH easier. I had a lot of trouble with going from a direction to neutral, to another direction quickly and accurately with a stick.
There have been frustrating moments so far and I’m sure there are more ahead, but I don’t plan to take the stick back out of my closet any time soon.
The trick isn’t grip strength, the tools posted earlier aren’t for grip, they are for finger press strength, needed for guitar and trumpet. Really though, with Sanwa buttons it’s not strength you need, it’s dexterity. People think it’s their ring finger being weak, but the issue is that you never used the finger for dexterous movements before. This is why musicians have an easier time playing on Hit Box (fun fact, everyone who works at Hit Box is a musician).
Look up finger exercises that guitar players do.
Just ignore all the fret talk and do the exercises on a desk or something. The tools won’t hurt either, these exercises with those tools will boost your dexterity like hell.
A razor to cut it off would be the best thing. That area of the PCB is just metal, so don’t be afraid to get at it tough. As long as you don’t rip off the connector it should be fine.
Hey guys!! Just decided to make an account to talk about my experience with the Hitbox. The only problem I faced while using it for street fighter, was plinking. As somebody said before, I thought it was also an issue with the PCB, but decided it was just me.
And one more thing, Hugo’s meat squasher on USFIV seems to be a challenge for me on Hitbox…
Meat Squasher has had its shortcut inputs removed, so you can’t do the normal Hitbox inputs (slide 360, shuffle 360, etc.)
You’ll have to manually 6321478 yourself.
Take your time and practice it slowly. Don’t rush through the movement, just accept that it’s going to take time to place one of these, and think tactically when you’re using it.
Hey guys, I’m new to Shoryuken (and arcade sticks in general, as a matter of fact), but I was wondering if somebody here could maybe give me some insight into ordering a HitBox.
I purchased one through the HitBox Arcade website about 2 weeks ago and checked out via PayPal, but since then I haven’t heard anything regarding my order. I emailed them last Saturday, but haven’t heard back. I don’t know if they’re just really busy or away, or if my message didn’t reach them for whatever reason. I was wondering if this was typical and if I should just be patient, or if I should try contacting them through some other means? Can’t wait to get my HitBox for USFIV.
Edit: Looks like I’ve got at tracking number. Can’t wait! I’ll definitely be reading through this thread for some tips and tricks.
