Hit Box - We so S Tier1!

Best (fighting) game to learn is the one you enjoy the most.
Some games have shortcuts others don’t.

I have a few questions about buying a Hitbox. I currently use a TE-S that hasn’t had any problems in the years that I’ve had it. However, I’ve been interested in trying a Hitbox after I messed around with someone’s Hitbox at WNF.

My only concern is if it’s possible to lock the start and select buttons like on TE sticks. I play Ibuki in AE and I rewired my stick so that I can select plink in order to hit Tsumuji loops consistently. Having the select button so close to my other buttons can be a problem in other games like Marvel where select is taunt, which is why I like to be able to lock my start/select. Is it possible to lock start/select on a Hitbox?

The Te doesn’t lock start and select it locks home and turbo. The hitbox does not have a lockout function as far as I know.

For the older Round 1 and Round 2 TEs, normally No.
But if you willing to do some modding, and for those button’s ground wire add a switch; you can “deactivate” those buttons.

TE started locking start and select with the TE-S afaik.

I just purchased a multi-console Hitbox but never received the confirmation email. Is there anything I can do to get them to resend it? The Hitbox guys haven’t returned my contact email in 3 days, and I really don’t want to lose 200 bucks and a controller with it.

On the Tech Talk Forums it be @Husser_Brian who you want to talk to. He is one of the developers of Hit Box and the OP to this thread.

Good idea, I didn’t think of that. Thanks

I modded my Qanba into a hitbox a few months ago, works great.
I just got the cronusmax so I’m testing it out on KI, KI is amazing with hitbox, far better than that terrible xb1 pad.
I can finally use characters other than sabrewulf reliably now. Even though sabrewulf becomes insanely easy to control thanks to having charge moves without the charge

Hey I’m having a pretty big problem with my HB. At random times my left directional button will stop working. Everything else works fine. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

Will a hitbox be made for xbox one?

Looking at making a hitbox for the xbox one. Does anyone know if the SOCD Cleaner will work with a padhack? I want to make sure the xbox’ security doesn’t end up blocking the whole thing because of it. :frowning: Or how would one go about using a ps360+ with a xbox one? Can I padhack to it or would it have to use to separate usb cords?

-Thanks in advance

SOCD cleaner works with any common ground PCB.

"Or how would one go about using a ps360+ with a xbox one?"
You Don’t
For the PS360+, don’t hold your breath. It was 5-6 years before there were any nice PCBs that were suitable for stick mods.

You will have to Pad Hack the Microsoft Xbox One Game Pad. Its not a easy mod and its not recommended for beginners.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was referring to how to use the ps360+ with a padhack as Ive seen gummo make a dual mod for xbone and use a ps360+ as well but i think it used a switch to cycle through the padhack and ps360+. I’m a novice but can solder, however, I think i found someone in the trading outlet that can padhack one for me so I dont have too. ^_^’ Do you think it’s worth using a cleaner if i dont intend to go to tourneys and jus play online?

Anybody have any techniques or tips on executing Morrigan"s Soul Fist spam on Hitbox?

The Hitbox FAQ on their site says they are working on making Hitboxes for the new consoles. Do you guys think they will be multiconsole like the previous generation?

Unlikely as there no multi console PCBs that works on next gen consoles yet.

Keep your fingers elevated with leverage over the buttons, not flat fingers. Make sure you follow through all the way on your unfly motion EVERY time or you will die. Practice it with the dummy set to super jump so you are capable of doing it without seeing yourself on screen. Keep the rhythm even until you’re ready to move into the optimal speed.

Is there a reason these aren’t more prevalent at tournaments? I’m in need of a new stick and these look really good, but there is something troubling about never really seeing them used, especially considering the advantages they give.

Most of the top players grew up in arcades are extremely efficient with a regular arcade stick. They feel there is no reason to switch to Hitbox. I doubt the idea of buying a hitbox has never crossed their minds. Don’t fix what isn’t broke. The people who do use hitbox have not really broke out in SSF4. So when top 8 SSF4 gets shown (which gets either the most or 2nd most views) you don’t see the controller.

The best showcase shown so far of the hitbox was during the curleh mustache battle royal team tournament. Team hitbox did really well.

Several injustice players who do extremely well with Hitbox, and if I am not mistaken one of them got top 8 at Evo 2013.

As far as the hitbox itself goes, it is an extremely well designed controller, and It is my go to controller for fighting games. the buttons give you better execution and more precise movements. The best thing about the hitbox IMO is the smaller buttons. The smaller buttons fit my hand better.

I would say this. If you never used a stick before then you are much better off learning hitbox over stick. IF you grew up in arcades and have been using stick forever then you might want to (stick) with what you know. If you own a stick and find it awkward then buying a hitbox might be a good choice. As for me, I played a lot of PC games when I was younger so when you got a controller that reminds you of a keyboard then the choice is easy. As far as next gen hitboxes I will be the first in line to buy one.
