Ordered my stick today. All setup with the hitbox guys getting a clear plexi. I donāt quite have words to describe the feels. Kind of a mix of how you feel soon after ordering all the parts for a computer and the feels you get when a girl told you for the first time that she wants you to put your fingers in her private parts. This thing could not be here sooner. I wish to touch it.
Fanatiq said in his AMA on Reddit that he loves hitbox would rock one if you guys gave him one. I think you guys should steal him from AGE haha! Although itās not surprising at all consider he plays piano and Beatmania IIDX.
He dropped the ball on that deal. We tried to get in contact with him and work something out about getting him one and HE never contacted US back. I personally tried talking to him through facebook, his email, Twitter, even tried to get his attention on his stream about contacting us and he never replied to anything. We basically gave up on him.
Got my hitbox and oh lord is it different. Some things are way easier but getting the timing down on tiger knees is a pain. I donāt think I could mess up quarter circles and dragon punches even with all the fingers on my hand being broken.
So everything he accused the Hitbox of being cheap, can be done on any game controller. Everything this guy accused Hitbox for doing I seen done on a traditional arcade stick. I myself think we need a Power Glove style arcade controller (why not). Also for the record I once dared someone to play against me in SF II turbo on a DDR pad, he was a black belt in Capoeira and took dance so he kicked ass.
Yes, I just did the same modification to my hitbox. Itās very easy. the hitbox even has the posts already in place for the PS360+. You just have to pull one wire at a time and place it in the right terminal on the PS360+. Just go one wire at a time till they are all replaced. Then unscrew the old PCB and use those screws to screw the new board down into place. Couldnāt be a simpler mod.
Getting the art for my hitbox printed this week. I know itās to be printed 100% scale 300 ppi from the template, and turn off the button layer before printing it. Iām not sure if Iām missing anything.
Also what kind of paper should I get? And by turning off the button layer it essentially removes all guides from the image. Is that normal?
when i printed out mine i used 11x17 card stockā¦kinkos prints all my artwork no matter the imageā¦i use to print on 11x8 but i kept running into issuesā¦depending on the imageā¦more vibrant colors on glossā¦will the artwork be under plexi?..if it is i wouldnt do glossyā¦matte finish has a nice tone tooā¦i usually get one of eachā¦
So I have had 2 months use of hitbox on sf4 and injustice. I can say without a doubt that injustice was made to work with hitbox, and you shouldnāt be using anything else but hitbox to play. SF4 is a little bit of a different story. Some stuff is easier, and I wonāt say other things are harder, but they are not as intuitive and will take some brain rewiring.
I believe that hitbox offers no benefit to charge characters, and I find that I do play charge characters better on stick, but that might be just me. I think it is just the nature of the characters though. Guile for example, most people who play Guile are not really doing anything crazy.
Input characters are a different story. I believe the Hitbox is the preferred tool for playing these type of characters. DPs are faster, and quarter circles are cleaner, but stuff like Tiger knee motion takes a bit of getting used too and for some reason I had a bit of trouble with half circles in the beginning. You can FADC like a champ with a hitbox too. the classic Ryu FADC ultra everyone learns is childās play with hitbox. I see waaaay to many FADC into Failyuken online and hitbox helps correct that.
I will say this to everyone who is struggling and want to consider getting a hitbox. The hitbox will help you with you execution, there is no doubt about that, but anyone who thinks you can just buy this thing and magically make a huge leap in skill you are very mistaken. Hitbox canāt teach you footsies, It canāt teach you match up knowledge, It canāt teach you how to mentally prepare for a match, or how to get inside someones head. Being able to do a combo is great, but if never get a chance to land it in a match, then there is no point. I have been bodied by plenty of people who never did more than 1 or 2 hits at a time.
I think this is a fair review but everybody has their own experience i guess.I main Sagat on SF4 and SFxT and have no issues with Tiger Kneeā¦i do step kick EX Tiger Knee all day online and offlineā¦I feel the DP motion is easier for me to perform more cleanly on my HitBox than on a pad or a stickā¦and more consistantly aswellā¦i agree with the issue with charge charactersā¦there is no benefit with a Hitboxā¦But all the little issues i had with my TE i feel was cured by changing to a Hitboxā¦so it really did improve my gameā¦i get owned by people online as well but its not my Hitboxā¦its me dropping combos, getting caught by cross ups(friggin annoying) and mistiming my own actionsā¦just more time and practiceā¦
