Hit Box - We so S Tier1!

Yes I was in the Marines. Yes the 50 Cal by geneva convention stated that it’s unethical illegal to fire it directly at people, only equipment or surrounding area.
A Grey area is to classify radio or weapons someone holding, the helmet they are wearing and such as equipment. “Its not my fault he wearing the helmet I was aiming at”.

"scary stories bout it’s ruthless destruction"
Even a “near” miss of several feet has enough force to still kill someone from a M2 Browning.
You don’t want to know what a direct hit does, and neither do I.

Aren’t we all blessed :), you from the Bay area Bro?

After dropping all kind of inputs in Injustice tonight from playing on stick I can’t wait till my PS360+ gets here.

How’d that tournament go?

It was fun. There was a pretty decent turn out. There weren’t as many people there this time as there was last time but still a pretty good number. There weren’t a whole lot of Injustice players though. I saw one Hitbox and it was one of the guys playing Injustice. I’m not sure how many people entered Injustice but there was 50-60ish for both AE and Marvel. Alex Jebailey even hooked us up with a 3 week early copy of DiveKick on his laptop for everyone to play. As far as my performance goes… Well… as they say, you learn from your mistakes and I learned a lot haha! But for my first Marvel tournament I didn’t get perfected and learned better how my team is supposed to work.

No, I am from the east coast.

That’s a good way to look at it, “I didn’t get perfected and learned better…”.
The synergy in Marvel is what scares me. I’m good with one character but encorporating three is where the challenge comes along. Back in vanilla, I had a solid Wolverine/Storm/Akuma, She hulk/Spencer,Tron. I couldn’t keep up with technology and got left behind! I should be attending my first local tournament. I’ll see how that goes.

I’m learning that while Nova/Frank/Spencer have great synergy together none of their assists are really good to make up for the fact they need to close the gap on run away characters. I learned real quick that level 1 frank has a hard time getting close to Magneto or Doom with only a Spencer assist.

Hey guys - so I just bought a multi system hitbox and I can’t wait to start messing with it. Shitty controllers and a hand that just is not that great with motions have hindered me for years (that’s why the only time I’ve succeeded is with the Soul Calibur games, since execution there is not strict and difficult for many characters at all), so I’m excited for this next step.

So I’m curious - while I will read all of the Hitbox threads in the next few days for research, I am wondering - what characters in what games benefit the most from the hitbox? What characters in what games become silly, or gain a new dimension?

I got a world of characters to explore once the stick arrives, so I’m curious about peoples opinions on where to start.

Also - how long does the Hitbox usually take to arrive?

First off welcome to the world of Hitbox…i own a genuine Hitbox plus three others I built. I play a lot of AE and SFxTk and I think your shooto characters benefit the most…I main Sagat and I can do Tiger shots all day…the inputs are very clean. With no wasted motion ultras and supers are easy to pull off…also in Tekken Tag also I main Kazuya and doing demon uppercuts are simple…I originally tried it as an alternative to a stick because I wasn’t happy with my gameplay…I’ve played for years but felt how I could get better…My Hitbox tightened up my game and I know my inputs are accurate…

I have had my Hitbox for about 6-7 weeks. I would say that Shoto characters benefit the most, and charge characters benefit the least. Although some charge motions are easier to do on hitbox such as Vega/Guile/Blanka pretzel motion ultra, and if you ever play Bison you never have to worry about overlap with that down button during your ultra to get the infamous teleport.

The hitbox takes some time to get used too. Playing on Hitbox is kinda like re-learning the game all over again. some things will feel more natural like hadokens and shoryukens and other things will take a bit of brain re-wiring like tiger knee motion or a 360/720. The hitbox will have a learning curve and you will probably get worse initially before you get better. I know when I first started using the HB my PP in AE dropped by 1,000 points, but it didn’t take too long to shoot right back up.

My HB took a little over a month form the time I ordered to the time I received.

In all honesty, everyone is different. I personally find it difficult with Shoto(Ryu, Ken, Akuma) style characters but easier with (Rufus/Yun, charge characters). Some movements like tiger knees are easier to do but requires you to relearn the movement(feels kinda unorthodox at first). What works for me may be completelely different for you. From the trend I’m seeing, most Hitbox users find it easier with Shoto style characters. It took mines almost a month to arrive. Other than that, get your hands dirty and practice!

Got my PS360+ in from Focus Attack last night and installed it into my hitbox. Took it over to a friend’s house and played Marvel on it for hours to test it out. Also thank you guys so much for having the posts already in place for the PS360+ it was so easy to just pull the wires out of the cthulhu and put them into the ps360+ and not have to worry about removing posts or putting down new PCB feet. Although I did have to recut and strip the wires because the doubled over method was too thick for he PS360+ holes. And one of the screws stripped out on me so I literally had to break the head of of it by bending the pcb all around. I thought the corner of the pcb would just snap off but apparently the Cthulhu is mightier than the screw haha.

And to answer @YoImSerge 's question I would say the games that benefit the most from hitbox would definitely be Injustice because of the cardinal direction input system used for special moves(I.E. down, forward punch instead of down, down-forward, forward punch), Tekken because it also uses a similar type of cardinal directions the movements like wave dashing and backdash cancelling are much easier on hitbox and it also makes just frame timing a lot easier when you can press buttons with both hands at the same time instead of having to try to match stick movement perfectly with buttons presses, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 because movement like in Tekken is very important and hitbox makes the ridiculous amount of movement easier. I still have some issues with SRKs on the player two side but I feel like all inputs are easier on hitbox, but it also helps that I’m a touch typists with an average of 90 words per minute.

any way to change the art on these things? and how, unless i missed it in the thread

You have to order a custom image screen printed on the plexi by emailing them at hitboxes@gmail.com

is there a template that i can design what i want to get printed?

Wow I had to go MIA from the thread for a bit, and I didn’t expect page 55 to be so nostalgic. We have definitely come a long way, and I can’t thank you guys enough for playing on Hit Box and spreading the love. Hit Box is still a teeny tiny company, but we’ve come so far from the original SCR 2010 interview Zeth linked that started all this. I’m definitely as still hyped and inspired to keep Hit Box growing and push the limits of fighters.
I was even shocked last night at WNF when even Aris was advocating that there needs to be more Hit Box players. http://www.twitch.tv/leveluplive/b/442550837?t=2m30s
Talking about community progress and acceptance, that’s a milestone…

Anyways I don’t want to get too sentimental, but I’m caught off guard so you gotta deal with a little sap. I’ll make one more post today to answer the missed questions, I just wanted to check.

Best periferral. I agree.

OOPs peripheral

I just received my Hit Box and I’m just so excited!
Really new to FG in general, and thought that I should use a peripheral / controller that I was already familiar with (keyboard).

It’ll take me a while to get used to this but I’m sure I’ll love it!

Thanks Hit Box~
