Hinokakera 3.01a Fragment Eclipse with P2P NetPlay (!)

There’s a video of the C75 test version (v4.00-).

Video quality sucks, so yeah.

More “updated graphics” screens. This time Celes.

Next on the list is Silvis, according to blog. If the pattern continues, then we’ll have Kasumi after the blondie, and then, perhaps, a demo version.

Also, current changes in v4.00:

  • New graphics. Characters and stages are being remodelled and retextured to meet the current quality standarts (for a doujin game, at least). Visuals are still pretty much the same, but with an extra spark of higher polycount and better lightning, which looks pretty nice.

  • New sounds. These are still work in progress it seems, but heavier attacks being blocked now produce a sharp clashing sound.

  • No Overdrive Force (or they may become hidden again);

  • Technical mode now has its own “Shatter Skill” - Technical Force (likewise, Shatter Skill is now called “Assault Force”), its command is 63214B (in case of Raven - it’s his old ‘Kuroi Rasen’ command throw), costs 40 Brake;

  • Assault Brakes are 6D now (simple D is Offensive brake) and cost 40 Brake;

  • Unlimited Brakes are no more;

  • Counter Brake is now available to both reinforce modes.

so anyone up for games?
do you guys have a hamachi network or something set up?

I…kinda doubt anyone plays it.

I play it, but the Online mode is horrible even on local play (and im very far from US so… i dont even want to imagine the results).

Really? I had a stable 60 FPS last time i played it over the LAN. But that client is super-random indeed.

want to give it a try ?
can pm me or whatever and maybe we can test it out

22C, the “switch to Uzis” move? What kind of slowdown - during the EX flash or afterwards?

And i don’t think there’s anything bannable in HK. I mean, there are no HK tourneys that i know of. If anything, as silly as it may sound, i would ban Kasumi’s and Aya’s supers, since those glitch opponent’s inputs for god knows how many versions.

No, but it’s unlikely to be a problem with the game - haven’t experienced anything like that myself. GUess it’s, i don’t know, hardware-related?

And that’s how Silvis looks now (pretty much the same that is, but with new moves):

I expect that after Akaishi is done revising Kasumi’s model, he will release a traditional 4-character demo. Probably during the Comiket. That would be logical.

The author thinks of releasing a second test version to the public this month (i assume a free download, but who knows).

It’ll have 3 characters (Raven, Silvis, Celes). new and (hopefully) improved beta netplay, and the replay fucntion.

hinokakera.mizuumi.net!!!

The second test version is out. 3 characters, 1 stage in 2 flavours, updated netplay.

Available on the official site.
Also, mirror, if you don’t feel like browsing a page of moonspeak.

A fixed test version 4.00-2a is out (a patched pre-demo, yes).
DL’able from the official site or: http://www.mediafire.com/?d1mmjtvdida

Also, updated the guide. Now includes a list of v3 to v4 changes and a section on the v4 netplay mode. Quiet “yay” to me, the fan of one of the most unpopular donjons.

Hinokakera is better than MKV at least.

I actually haven’t seen Hino in action aside from busted combo videos, so it’s at least as good as MKV

A combovid for 4.00-2:

Nothing too fancy.

So MKV is the new bar for poverty games? Ouch for NRF.

Hino looks kinda fun. Maybe once the game gets some proper netplay, I’ll try it again. I didn’t play the game for too long because it felt kinda slow to me. Are there any good match videos around, Nekich?

You could call it an early build of v4.

Netplay in v4 looks (and feels) better than v3, but i’ve been able to test it only on ~400miles distance and both versions were 60fps on 1 delay, so…yeah, that doesn’t say much.

There’s a speed setting in config, and with it set to “high” game does feel faster, but not Guilty Gear or Melty Blood faster.

I’m not at all sure what a good HK matchivd is, since i mostly stumble upon freaky chinese combo videos, but these ones are pretty nice:
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm4055402 (this be normal speed)
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm4055915 (this be high speed)

the demo was worth the download pretty fun, thanks for posting it.
