^^Sounds hot. Ive been messing with FFS > feint > Karakusa in the training room. Just because you can possibly turn the FFS into a slight mix up.
Does anyone else find that the hayate feint into s.mp more differcult to do than kara-kara?(i did the hold lk+lp method)
Or is that just me? … after the feint the mp seems always to get blocked… only have like a frame to do the s.mp…
Am I doing something wrong? Is it there a trick to do it? Or just need tons of pratice?
i dont think its 1 frame its not too hard to do once the timing clicks.
how do you do the shortcut version of armourcancel ultra? thanks to british justice telling me it makes a good option select for when the opponent wants to meaty you on wakeup out of throw range.
f+mp is a great tick to karakusa. I pull off karakusa reliably off of it on high level players. The trick is to do two in a row a few times to condition them to block, then do f+mp karakusa. Then mix it up after that. Its quick, high priority, and beats throw so people wont throw try to throw you out of karakusa, if they do and guess wrong they get f+mp’d.
can u link anything after f.mp?
ummm throw. You cant link anything, but you can do f.mp jab s.mp mp.hayate or another f.mp and there’s only a 1 frame gap between f.mp and jab and a 2 frame gap between s.mp and f.mp if you do another to go for the karakusa so you cant be jabbed or thrown.
the f.mp has the same startup/recovery as abel’s f.mk and iirc lk karakusa has 6 frames of startup, EX has 5 which is the same as abel’s command throw.
On counter hit, F+MP is comboable.
I’m really, really liking c.lp, c.lp, c.lk. st.lk as a block string lately. You just have so many options after that st.lk since it leaves you so close to your opponent if you cancel it. Cancel into oroshi, cancel into hayate feint for a mixup, or just stop the string at c.lk with a cancel to bait a throw tech since cancelling c.lk often leaves you out of throw range.
st.lk. Love it, use it, abuse it.
i wish i had the wherewithal to be able to pull off cr.lp st.lp st.mp mp.hayate, but i always end up getting two crouching jabs in matches… im gonna have to try exploring other options if i mess up, is there a standing normal that combos off of cr.lp x2? im not near my ps3 atm to try it. Once i nail cr.lp st.lp st.mp mp.hayate consistently that will def be a sweet bnb for me.
After hayate, i have been using st.mp to throw an extra poke out there after… sometimes it trades (usually when i try it more than once or twice in a match), but sometimes it catches people off guard and leads to a mp or ex oroshi
st.MP*4 works against abel
st.MP*5 seems to work against crouching abel too.
that’s hot
CH’s are so clutch for mak. CH oroshi combo’s really well, ch s.fp can combo into another s.fp with hayate cancel, CH hayate can combo into s.mp xx hayate… trying to think, i know she has more CH only combo’s…
Regarding FFS
After thinkin about it and testing it, Im almost positive it’s a 1 frame link. S. mp is a 5 frame move. Both s. mk and s. hp are 6 frames yet you cant link any of those in there.
yah youre right, wonder why it feels so easy, must be the plinking
whats plinking? how will it make linking 1 frame moves easier?
You cant link them because the MP leaves you +5 on hit but the mk and hp both have 6 frames of startup. There is no overlap there. What makes MPx2 a 1 frame link is that it has 5 frames of startup and gives a 5 frame advantage, so you have to hit MP for the second time on the 1 (final) frame of the first MP’s recovery. The reason you CAN combo s.mp s.hp on CH is that CH gives you:
+1 extra frame advantage: Light normal attacks
+3 extra frame advantage: Medium and Heavy normal attacks
+3 extra frame advantage: Special attacks
Also, the FA CH gives you is on the first hit only. I hope this is relevant to what you were talking about. If not, its still useful info that not everyone knows
um … i’m pretty sure he’s talking about the frame advantage after fierce xx hayate cancel, not s.mp.
Update on OP.
I just put a video of MP-fukiage utility

You got it. Im almost sure I said exactly what Bboy said w/o being as elaborate about it. lol.
This is really awesome. Thanks!
