He generally just trains them well on wake-up and times his frame traps really tightly, but Japan, in general, does A LOT fewer guess DPs on wake-up/block and a lot more safe crouch tech. See Evans VS Tokido at Stunfest for how western style “I don’t give a fuck” reversals can catch the Japanese off guard.
Minor question: I was playing someone recently who tended to do a Really meaty focus attack after a hard knockdown (or maybe i didn’t tech I cant remember). It was timed really well so it was hitting me the moment as I got up, I had no ex zonk charged, but I probably would have mis-timed that anyway. I tried to jump or dash (backstep) away and got sent airborn once and a full crumple another time.
I really don’t come across this much but assuming this is lvl 3, it doesn’t seem like there is much you can do. Any thoughts?

I’ve encountered that aswell in which backdash wasn’t an option. throw worked for me atleast for his setup. even when he launch the attack it’s possible to throw him out of it. the animation of the focus attacks are quite missleading.
I was messing around today in endless and failed a focus attack to EX rocks combo, but the juggle allowed a regular CU to combo. I’ve never seen that before; took a video just for fun.

I also had someone do a Focus attack, rocks linked to U1 today. I didn’t even know that was possible. Not sure why you’d want to do that on purpose other than the fact that it looks awesome; it does less damage.
criminal upper can juggle after everything since it does jp1-8 [or something] for each hit of the cu respectively. thing is, it’s often just to slow.

I want a lp / mp cu => u2 kill so bad, but it does so little damage : /
I spent a long time in the training room trying to get the cu->u2 full animation to work just for fun, no luck. I was trying to get some type of setup to get just the last hit of the tornado to hit somehow then juggle the end of the dust into full animation.

While watching i8600011 vs a gief, I noticed that he always ended his combos with mk. ruffian to give himself some breathing room. This seems like a good thing to know vs grapplers to GTFO of there.
