It’s all about the conditioning. There’s also the fact that this is top level play where players generally respect each other more and typically veer towards safer options most of the time…most of the time.
I see what you’re saying there. I’ll go online and fight a B+ guy and beat him because he knew my options and respected them but when i get paired up vs an adon spamming special moves with no real thought behind them I get blown up
it makes no sense really(if i can beat better players i should be able to blow up the scrubs). By chance could you look at the critique thread and see my video of me getting wrecked by a blanka? I’ve been feeling like i’m missing something important about street fighter for a couple weeks now. Like something so important it will make me a better player. I can’t explain it its really frustrating :\
quick tip: you don’t punish any of his moves (balls, rainbow slide etc) it’s cruical to get a lead against blanka (and any other character).
This should help you ALOT:

I’ve seen that video a thousand times but I can’t translate it to actual gameplay and I have no fucking clue why
Er, are you blocking the balls? Considering he’s been nerfed in AE, punishing should be easier than ever. Stand blocking doesn’t take too much reactions to do either
Thats the problem, i’m not reacting fast enough to stand in time for a punish

oh desk, u so crazy
yo guys new to the forums here. Even though i dont main cody (main:fei) i play him ALOT, he’s just to much fun to play. Looking forward to being a part of the cody discussion
I dont know whether this will help alot or if u guys already know but I thought why wouldnt I just post it. Also I dont have anything to record it with…(yes shame on me)
I was fighting a yun today who was kinda DP happy. So I found out a meaty cr.mk will make a lk.upkick whiff.
So I went into training mode again to test it with the other upkicks. meaty cr.mk= mk.upkick will get stuffed, and hk and EX will just hit you.
Then I tried it in a block string while mashing upkicks as yun (string= cr.lp, cr,lp, cr,mk)
lk + mk upkicks =whiff hk upkicks=trade EX upkicks=cody will get hit.
Again I dont know if it is useful.

I noticed Momochi karathrows with mk. While the increase in range is really small, it allows you to grab after a cl.mp. Worthwhile.
After U2, anywhere on the screen. Pick knife up and wif s.lp will safe jump. I can’t precisely determine if it safes jump 4 frames reversals because it’s impossible to record this setup in training (10 seconds limit), but it works against 5 frames if you time it correctly.
You have a very unique way of keeping up the pressure. Very interesting style. I’m inspired by some of the techniques in these videos. One thing I don’t comprehend is why you dont always finish your combos. For instance, after landing jump MK>stand MP… isntead of going for a crouch HP or MP and finishing off the combo, you instead went for a stand LK and then f+MP into crouch LK>Light CU on one occasion, and simply walked forward and threw on another. What exactly was your purpose behind doing that?
I only recently realized that on maximum range of f+MP, even if it’s NOT CH, you can still link U2 (or sweep). Did that by accident in a match then tried it in training mode and it worked :O. I know that it might not be new to many of you here, but it certainly is for me.
called “meaty” hit. you can actually combo ultra 2 after a far s.lp.
Hey guys I made this video to help with the Ryu matchup, I THINK I got it figured out!
