On block it is easily in range , on hit it can be a little hard to confirm into combo because the opponent gets knocked back over your head and you have to launch from there.

If youā€™re playing doom, Plasma Beam is a must. Itā€™s a ridiculous fullscreen mixup. As much as hidden missiles helps keep people off of you, ESPECIALLY ZERO, I feel that I should take it upon myself to learn how to zone and move around better so I donā€™t waste one of the best assists for RR.

So how much of a projectile is j.S? I noticed it cancelling out fireballs in some random matches. I wonder if Dr Strange can counter it LOL.

Dunno about durability, but it is very much a projectile.

Thanks for the combo inspiration. I initially started out with combinations of X-23 and RR, trying to make them work, but I seemingly abandoned my old team to build one around RR. I have RR (Pendulum) + Sentinel (Drones) + Dr Doom (Plasma Beam) aka team Coon and Friends. All I need is one knockdown, then from there, itā€™s nothing but resets w/ cycling through my assists. I feel this is the one of the best ways RR can be played. One knockdown and you may lose a character.

Iā€™ve seen peopleā€™s RR teams in this forum and could say that itā€™s somewhat similar to my X-23, RR, etc. team. RR needs to be the star of the show imo! Team synergy is very important for RR, to me at least.

RR is indeed the shit. Wesker and Doom are both characters who donā€™t really require assists to be effective. Wesker is a great battery and heā€™s capable of 700k with no meter. Doom takes a lot more skill but is also capable of generating almost 3 bars off of a random j.S (footdive) to OTG blah blah blah.

Your new team is definitely more threatening than your previous one, even if the point character is merely cannon fodder and gets beasted.

Tio Anwser your question Its more of the fact hat That im an idiot. let me explain. When I lose to someone who useā€™s a character I like It bothers m. IT always has, I donā€™t know why. Mabey I Am Expecting to be the best RR player. mabey its the fact that Im losing to someone who knows how to play better then me and can prove it. OR prehaps my Team of RR, Viewtiful Joe, & Vergil Just doesnt have good synergy.

There are so many reasons why I get salty. lol

Being the best with a character at times requires you to pick up things from people who are better than you both with the character and people who are just better than you at the game in general.

I wouldnā€™t be as good of a Viewtiful Joe player as I am today if I didnā€™t learn from other people. The idea behind character boards like this is that people collaborate and learn from each other so that we can all level up and become better players.

I dont have the UMVC guide yet so i was wondering if RR has any hittable box while underground? sry if this is dumb but im not sure at all

No but it has vulnerable startup and recovery, I think his full height, at least attacks that would whiff on him crouching can hit you out of burrow startup/recovery I have noticed.

Hawkeye can shoot you underground.

thanks !! now would this mean that if i did doom missles then did the hard version burrow towards my opponent then i use this tactic to get hit on recovery alot less? :slight_smile:

By the way my team is Iron Fist (Rising Fang) / RR (Log) / Doom (missles or beam? not sure yet) ā€¦ my team is obviously building around iron fist pressure and keeping my opponent pinnedā€¦ i got in a few times with just using doom missles with iron fist and he HURTS and his feints have potential imoā€¦ but im wondering also which doom assist would benifit them both?

Are people actually using the hard version of burrow? How are you using it? I havenā€™t really been able to figure it out seeing as itā€™s so slow and the opponent can see you the whole time. Iā€™ve been sticking to assist > left/right burrow.

Me too. From what Iā€™ve seen itā€™s extremely predictable. Even with assists.

I have this pet theory that they started with the H burrow, realized it was no good, then gave him the other 2 so the move would be worthwhile.

I USe the H version of the burrow for now since the game is new and people dont understand how it works yet :stuck_out_tongue:

Any tips on doing damage with RR? I have him on my team with Strider and right now it sucks having 2 characters that only average 400-500k.

I looked up some combo vids, but nothing really practical came up for RR.
