Well with all due respect now that theres no more DHC glitch its a bit of a stretch to say a 450-500k combo is “low damage” thats pretty average damage, and I have a feeling RR will be able to do more than the bare minimum.
Besides I highly doubt the stun on net trap is long enough to hard tag and cause a mixup situation. Trish cant do shit on her peekaboo and it lasts FOR-EVERRR.
I think we will. If there’s a way to combo into net trap, the beauty of it being a trap is that it can go off even after rocket’s done with the summoning animation.
I’m thinking something like air combo > bear trap > log trap near corner > Net trap off wall bounce > tag > death by monster.
Maybe that won’t work exactly how I’d like it, but you can see what I’m getting at here. Net trap has the potential to set up for all sorts of nasties if we’re able to combo into it, and if it keeps them trapped long enough. needs testing.
yer I don’t really like to talk about damage with characters like rocket
he has mad tools for extended combos , multiple otgs a wall bounce ,spring hyper and air ok specials , ROCKET SKATE and not even mentioning he has a level 3
you can tell nemesis hits hard because we are probably at his comboabilty wall already
The fact that he has to input another action just to set off the oil bomb makes me think some of you guys are approaching Rocket Raccoon the wrong way.
I dont think he’s really that “reset/unblockable setup” type character. He’s most obviously a trap/keepaway character in the same vein of Spiral, Strider/Doom, Trish, Arthur…etc etc
Keepaway isnt as concrete as you may think. He doesnt literally need to constantly be on the opposite side of the screen, but he has tools to get you back if he wants you back. Thats keepaway.
I feel like people do better when they know how a character SHOULD be played. The same way your Spiderman would net you weak rewards if you tried to runaway with sent drones all day. It might work but…youre selling the character short.
The game isn’t even out. I think you’re in theory-land just as much as the other guy so these kinds of statements are rather presumptuous at this point.
RR looks like a straight up keepaway character to me. burrow is going to be even more stupid cause he will be able to use it to dash out the corner or mix up whether or not he will stay in it. his ground laser has a perfect angle for AA… just like ammys AA coldstar… only its a normal so assists can be called with it.
AA ground h that hits xx into oil call assist light oil on fire xx log/burrow etc etc
looks like a stupid fun character.
totally trap/keepaway based though.
assists that might work well with him:
peekaboo (more traps?? YES!)
hidden missiles
drones
taskmaster parabolic shot (highly underrated assist that takes up HUGE amounts of screen)
and of course all the generally good assists like the aforementioned drones
Maybe i’m asking for too much but I wish Log Trap covered the top half of the screen, I know it does but I want it to hit grounded characters as well who aren’t Nemesis and Sentinel.
Yeaaaahhh…In Raccoon’s case, some people play Trish more on the rushdown side, same with Zero, Doom, Dormammu especially…etc.
Raccoon has good mobility, teleports and a ton of invulnerable movement. He’ll be able to rush down with assists to an extent. People will probably find their own playstyles.
