Iām already planning out combos with this tandem, i really canāt wait to get my hands on the game and try it all out.
Iām planning Chris on point with RR second. They do indeed look to be awesome together.
Sweep Combo > Spring > Net Trap > hard tag to Chris > air grab > combo

Oh man I was so sad when I knew I had to let Tron go, but the log is making me forget all about that painful heartbreak now.
Does Spring cause any sort of knockdown to allow a normal trap to work? That would be pretty amazing.
Either way I donāt think you could air throw out of the net, it looks like you have to combo. Maybe the grab specials (like skrull/spencer) or supers (like she-hulk/frank) would work?
I actually always liked Chris in MvC3 but never got to the point of spending time with him. I like his playstyle because itās similar to Dormammuās wait and keepaway until you find an opening. Iām actually a secret Dormammu main and with Chrisā buff I thought no one else would be perfect for him other than Rocket.
Chris/Rocky is like, a zonerās Logan/Gouki.
He hasā¦ 7 ātrapsā if I count right so I guess thatās perfect.
(rock, frag, net, oil, bear, log, hyper spring)
2 inputs not counting hyper makes sense.
Iām not going to say Chris was underrated in vanilla, he clearly had some problems and I had to spend A LOT of time practicing to make him look viable, but he was pretty damn powerful and with the right setups he would do a ton of damage, all it took was one mistake on the opposing side. The point of the Chris buffs were to make him more viable as a solo character and for him not to rely on assists like he has to in vanilla. But of course they decided not to give him a new move that could possibly cover the air at all, so heās going to need an assist in most match-ups. :rolleyes:

From Chris to Rocket, youāll want to get a sweep combo off with Chris. Thanks to the new buff that makes the SMG part of sweep combo OTG (which is awesome), you donāt have to worry about avoiding ground bounces to get there. Before Chris gets the last hit with the rocket launcher, DHC into Rocket with either gatling gun or spring trap, both should hit. You could also end a quick ground combo with grenade launcher and as long as the opponent is frozen in place on the ground you can do whatever the hell you want with Rocket, even level 3.
From Rocket to Chris, thereās a good chance a connected spring trap will go straight into sweep combo, you may have to time it right in case the opponent flies too high from the bounce. Gatling gun should also work with sweep combo but only in the corner. Of course thereās always gatling gun into Chris level 3 if youāre lucky enough to have the meter for it!
Bonus tip - If you have two meters and knock the opponent too far away to OTG with either character, use a THC. The first grenade from Chrisās launcher will OTG and Rocketās gatling gun will keep the opponent in place long enough for the remaining grenades to connect and you might be able to follow up for more damage. The specific follow up would depend on what hits last, Chris tracking grenade or Rocket tracking shotā¦I have no idea yet.
I could write essays on Chris theory. Kinda sad.
Iāve yet to see a vid of a character landing, but it puts them in that spinning while falling state so you wouldnāt need to wait for them to land.
Of course we all need the game to confirm.

I want to know what happens if you do net trap and then just let the opponent break out of the net. Do they air tech or do they just fall straight down?
Either way RR would get more off a combo than to set up a reset situation.
Why do you say that? After all he has fairly poor damage. Iād think resets would be more valuable.
Iām also interested in the possibility of sayā¦catching an opponent in net trap, then tagging in to Nemesis and catching a reset with a command grab if they forced tag in the air.
