Heroes World Thread (Toronto/York/Markham) CASUALS EVERY WEDNESDAY

I second the idea to have casuals on a weekend (posted in advance) at least once a month. i know myself and WTFchris (he says you know him pretty well, coolasice) would like to attend.

is it Chris S? runs sim?!? if so then yes! i’ll have to play him again with my new main!
perhaps we’ll unoffically run every wednesday but have 2 wednesdays officially so hopefully there will be bigger turn outs those days. I’ll also squeeze in at least 1 weekend day each month…we can do mini tourney so i can start ranbats stuff

i dunno if your really at disadvantage! i would come out if you can, we’ll have at least 2 ps3 on tourney day, so you’ll be able to play on them for your tourney games…plus the swiss style tourney will guarantee you at least 4-5 matches

do it up! even if we get a small group i can easly get 2 stations going every wednesday

Only 1 day left until the tournament!

Should be a lot of fun…I just wish there would be a Street Fighter themed, thirst-quenching, energy-giving, delicious beverage available while the matchups are running…

There are SF theme energy drinks available in stores somewhere…

I should say ggs to;
benz we were going at it for a long time, I never play against any of those chars so I was grateful for that
mako/fei player you didn’t use mako against me this time but we had a couple of good sets with your fei
omega I think your sim is better than ryu, even though I wasn’t using my main against sim he still seemed stronger
patrick I like your akuma gave me some incite on that matchup that I needed, ground game is tough against him

is the tourney character lock? I’m still not even sure if I’m coming yet

Great games, lotta fun playing against you. I’m so inconsistent on this damn game, lol. Finding it different playing offline plus having to lap play with my stick (wait, that sounded dirty). Seriously tho, i’m so accustomed to having a table to play on at a specific height, really throws off my execution. ~argh.

…and Patrick’s Akuma was crushing my will left right and center! loved it.

See y’all 2moro.

I’ll probably show up late since I’ve never been to the place, hopefully it doesn’t start too on time :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: Or my guitar lesson went an hour longer than expected, guess I’ll make the trek some other time

yeah, reg one main character and one alternate…so basically give me 2 characters when you sign up

if there is a low turn out, i’ll try to get in on the action

Tourney day!! oh yeah folks, tourney day as arrived! so i hope to see most of you again today!

should be 3 out of 5 stations hooked up from 11am if anybody wants to come by and get some practice in! Be sure to show up by 1pm or 1:15 the latest! i’ll be taking registrations as soon as ppl come though the door. Just gotta give me your name, and two characters and 10 bucks!

What to expect:
We’re doing this my way this time, so hopefully it’ll be nice and neat! I’ll register everybody, and then announce round pairings. Each pairing should find a station and play their best 2 out of 3 match sets and then report the result to me. Not only is who won important but also what margin, so if you won 2 straight or won 2 and lost one, i need to know. Once all parings in the round have completed their game, i’ll pair you guys up again for 2nd round and the same deal will go down, etc until we are finished. 8 ppl means we only run 3 rounds,9-16 means 4 rounds, 16+ means 5 rounds. if we have a very large turn out, i’ll possibly run a top 4 or top 8 bracket.

we’ve got a few door prizes that will be given out randomly, including a SF soundtrack courtesy of omega! and some other goodies!

Please let me know what you thought of the format everybody! do you prefer this style or the traditional double elim style? do you have any questions about how swiss style works?

There are a number of things i can do different or in addition, for example cutting to a top 8 or 4 playoff. Give me feedback and let me know so i can make adjustments!

Hey Jon, are there any MadCatz SE’s in stock yet?

And how much do they cost?

Round robin!!! lol

GG guys on the tournment/casuals yesterday! im really happy that i made 7th for my first tourney out of like 15 players? Hoping to do the double elimination for the next one

no stock yet! still trying to find some. We do have the TvC Wii stick, that can be modded to work on both ps3 and xbox360. I don’t really recommend this unless you actually plan to use the stick for ALL THREE systems, if that’s the case then this is a good option. Stick is $89.99 and you’d have to ask Chowwun how much to do the modding (He did an amazing job on the store sticks).

for 8 or less ppl, i think this is an option…more than that it’d be pretty crazy…but we could give it a go…i was also thinking some kinda win streak tourney, who can get the longest win streak or something like that

yep! not bad at all! i can certainly do double elim if ppl so desire

Instead of having 16 person round robin, it could be 2 or 4 pools of 8 or 4 each. The top of each pool could get duke it out for top 4 positions…?

actually i was just thinking that today, i was checking out the last tekken podcast and they do the pools…they did it really strangely where they counted the rounds won…but the idea was there. It’d make things easier to organize too, cause if we got a pool of 4-6 ppl they can pretty much just stick at one station. I assume random pools would be good, but we could also do them selectively…ex a guile player in each pool and stuff like that
