the pad chun player plays gief, you should have asked him
oh and it seemed like there were more pad players than stick players o.O

The point of the entire match is to keep gief running after you. Boom and then mix up your AAs. Also, don’t get predictable with your booms else your opponent can EX green hand on reaction.
Once you have been knocked down, well… GGs to you sir. It’s an entirely guessing game… in which most cases you will end up on your ass. =\
If you’re really desperate, you can use super to get out of the cross up situation. Luckily, Guile doesn’t really need EX in this match up…
Pressure from going 0-2 shouldnt be a bad thing. if anything, it should motivate you to get better and win
For those who are attending the tourney and don’t feel that they would do as well as compared to the other people, it’s a real motivation killer when you go 0-2 right off the start - I know how it felt because I got owned by two Akumas going 0-2 at a Toronto tourney at the beginning of the year. -_-"
At least this method gives everyone about the same amount of play time and gives you a higher chance of winning.
GG’s chowwun and omega! Chowwun, it was really hard to face ur cody, cuz u read me as a book everytime, so grats to that. And omega is FREE! lol, naw im playing… great execution with your ryu man.
I wouldn’t go as far as saying you have a better chance of winning, but you might eek out a top 4 or top 8 slot, at which point its single elim anyways. Top players still play top players in the end, and beginners build experience. Win/Win
Another great turnout and good games across the board! My pleasure to help out but I do like it when people buy stuff! (o_o)/
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, should be an exciting tourny and interested in seeing how the Swiss-style unfolds.
Don’t make me sick my “sister” on you Fadi!
glad to hear all the support guys! yeah, i still have to do some research on the ranbat thing, but if i can use the swiss style method i could do it no problem, and then ppl would get to shuffle around more and more “like” skilled players should end up battling.
I could possibly try to run casuals EVERY wednesday if demand dictates. but i wouldn’t want ppl to come out and nobody is here. The first casuals I was technically not working so i was able to play more, but i don’t think i can arrange that every week…plus i bet ppl would get bored of whupping my ass Post up what you think…should we do it EVERY week? or just two times a month so kinda like EVERY OTHER week? like i’ll just pick out two weekdays and possibly one weekend each month and be sure to post well in advance
yeah, that’s pretty much it…odds are if you lose you will not be overall champion…unless some strange happenings go down. Once we get to 4-5 round structure you could easly come up to 2nd after losing just one set. The rare situation is that a few players get paired down (meaning they play someone with a lower rank) and they end up losing…then we could run into situations where anything can happen. Also we do have the option of running the 4-5 rounds of swiss, then we can have a top 4 or top 8 single elim bracket.
mostly what will be missing is the ability to lose and come back on top…but i find double elim very unforgiving to new players and it’s alot more work to organize. This method i can do everything easily myself. But again if ppl don’t like this format i can run it the traditional way
Personally I think it would be great to run it weekly. This saves people the trouble of having to determine which week is on/off. Just knowing you can drop in every Wednesday for some ggs is convenient.
I’m willing to offer any help you may need in running sessions when and/or if you’re committed out front.
sounds good, as long as we have a handful of ppl every week…i don’t think we’ll be able to do such a crazy set of stations every week though, i can very easily do 2 stations
also i forgot to comment on all the pad players! that’s nutso! they are representing lately! i’m surpised not many ppl use the madcatz pad though, i started using it the other day and it’s pretty nice. The buttons are nice and big. Dpad is pretty smooth…perhaps because i was heavy into the sega saturn back in the day so i’m used the style. only grip is the little switch on the back to change the d-pad setting…i’ve hit it only once in a game, but to have your character suddenly stand there is pretty funny…there must be a mod to shave it down so you don’t hit it as easly
ThePadWarrior isn’t Fadi… it’s the X360 pad Guile player you were playing with haha.
GGs man. I think the reason why you did as bad as you thought you did was because you were tired and I main Guile - so I know most of the tricks there are to Guile. =P. And I guess you don’t really know the Cody matchup either. Once thing I noticed is that you don’t like to block low; you just keep backing up. This is a bad thing for Guile esp if he’s walking himself into the corner. But in my case, I feel okay comfortable with being in the corner.
haha, padwarrior is named Fadi as well! so now we have a GUILE Fadi and a GUY Fadi
chow i was watching your cody thoughout the night…and it seemed like a pretty dramatic change from start to finish…going from missing links to hitting all of them (well from the games i saw)
which Fadi is the one that used to beast at lovegetty with akuma and gief?
that’s probably GUY Fadi…he no longer runs akuma or gief (since Super hit it think) and pretty much only runs GUY now. He does know HOW to play many characters, his previous main was Akuma
Oh yeah… I forgot about that pad Guile is also named Fadi lol.
As for the missing links, I think I’m getting used to the offline timing. I don’t blame your Xbox and PS3 anymore. I blame online play lol. I’m glad you saw the change, means I was doing something right! HaHA!
Yes to casual wednesdays. No pun intended.
I think mixing it up would be nice for the people that can’t make it on either on a weekday or weekends.
Good luck to the people going to the Sat. tourney. I’d go but, it’s too much of a handicap for me since I don’t have a PS3 or SSF4. Also ggs to the people I’ve played - I was the pad Viper/Cammy/Fei player.
My friend wants me to permanently change my shifts off on Wednesdays for these casuals lol.
Anyway, PS3/2 Pad (bad)Ibuki = Steve(me) and PS3/2 Pad Akuma = Patrick.
See you guys there either way.
