My buddy and I should be popping in for the casuals tonight. Are there anymore systems/monitors needed? I can bring 2 360s along with 2 26" monitors if needed along with a te stick and a hori ex2.

Thanks for hosting the casuals tonight. I was wondering if anyone there can fix sticks though as I put carpenter’s glue on my SE. Anyways, I’m looking forward to playing more casuals next week besides guiles, lol.
Big thanks to all that came out on wednesday! at one point we had about 16 players present. Many thanks to ppl that let others use their sticks! Big thanks to Omega that provided tons of sticks and pads!!
My apologies for not expecting so many ppl, as i only had 2 set-ups going, i managed to get the 3rd going, but it was a little cramped. I’ll definitely be moving the set-ups to the back gaming room next time to give ppl more space…or perhaps we can even spread them out and have two out front and two out back.
I appreciate everybody coming out and chipping in the $5 to go towards equipment and set-up fees. I always feel bad collecting from fellow players but it’s hard to justify doing it with out something coming in for the shop, so hopefully most of ya’ll understand and don’t mind! Also if anyone ever has issues with fees please let me know…for example maybe you show up and only get in 1 or 2 games…then for sure come up to me and go “well i only got in like one game man” and i’ll gladly refund your $$$

what is the problem with your SE? i’ve done quite a bit of mods our the shops SEs so depending on what it is i can help you out.
I don’t mind all the guiles, he’s a very powerful character in this game so i makes sense to see him alot…gotta get used to playing him…hopefully one day i’ll stop eating so many flash kicks!!
oh yeah, i noticed a small group sticking to the ps3…was it cause of the pad? or was there any other reason?
I’m just checking so i know if i should try to get a 2nd ps3 set-up running, as i don’t wanna discriminate against pad players…we have ready access to another xbox, but if there is more of a ps3 preference, then i’ll try to at least get it half and half, so 2 xboxes and 2 ps3s

Should be popping by and I’ll be bringing the troublesome PS2 to 360 converter(for PS2 pads and peripherals), I also say troublesome because apparently the 360s don’t know how to reassign controllers…I’ll bring my stick by if chowwun is there to check if there’s actually a common ground in the PCB because I wanna start getting accustomed to fightsticks since I overdo the motions(jumping too much like a noob or when I play on the 360 pad). My friend will stick to the PS3 for the sake of the PS3 pad since he has a peculiar button setup…
Still trying to see if I can make the mod by the 16th, my many other addictions are draining my cash flow(though the Lucky Star X Street Fighter IV mini figures are pretty neat and the Legendary Edition of Reach is fan-freaking-tastic).

-this one is a solid stick for a great price, it’s all seimitsu parts, so it’s a bit more “stiff” we have one on demo here (the black and white version) so i’d definitely try it first
than if your on a budget:
any of the Hori Tekken sticks there is a $129.99 one that i didn’t list above
-don’t let the tekken name fool you, these are great sticks for the price…i believe we are offering one at a discounted price too if you don’t want the tekken game with it…i’ll check that for you. Also the sticks are wireless, so it’s a nice pick up and go option.
also we carried the Hori FS3 arcade stick for only $59.99…i’ll see if we can get more of those…it’s a nice little stick, not terribly mod-able but great for beginners
Just got an update on that stick…if you want a tekken stick without the game, it’d be $74.99

There were only two pad users on the ps3 station. I think people were just too lazy/scared to move around haha.

I was one of the guile players. I was out of the SF scene for awhile but I’m really surprised to see the amount of Guile players that night… quite discouraging lol.
Anyways it was fun. Thanks for setting this up. Hope to come by more often.
I was the horrible bison player. Big difference playing offline with others. I couldn’t get anything off lol. Was fun and ggs, nice group of people.
Thanks for setting this up and don’t worry about the cover charge. At the end of the day you are running a buisness not a charity.

Yeah I went… I’ll be going again when I have those days off.
yeah, i’d also like to get at least one station a little more newbie friendly…it’s kinda hard being thrown in with the sharks right off the get go. Not so say you can’t learn anything…but when we start going winner stays that means people become a little less helpful case they are trying to win…kinda like jumping on a treadmill going at full speed. With 4 setups next time that should spread things out a little, and then newer players can get some more play time instead. Perhaps we’ll section off set-ups…one for beginner/intermediate and one for advanced or something. Also perhaps if we can get some players that don’t mind teaching the newer players how the ropes go…i got some great tips from a fellow Fei Long player and that was awesome.
Also this is the reason i wanna run the SWISS-STYLE pairing in the tournament…cause for newer players, you’ll be guaranteed 4 or 5 rounds of play…and against similar skilled opponents after the first round (well opponents with the same record as you that is). Instead of paying your entry and then losing two games and then your out.
