Hey Jon! Count me in! i know i haven’t been coming recently, its cuz, i’ve been working full-time mon-sat lol. but sundays im off… so im down :). hopefully, ill be in top 3.
as a suggestion, please run the whole tournament on one console (xbox/ps3). seeing as you have more xboxes than ps3s, please run the tournament on xboxes, and leave the ps3 consoles for causal stations imo.
problem is that we have alot of ps3 pad players…so that presents a problem…previous tourneys have actually gone the other way with people flocking around the ps3s for their matches cause of the pad players. i only know of two players that have the xbox to ps3 converters too. We’ll probably just do what we did last time, which is announce the pairings and then the players and decide what system to play on if anyone has preference…hopefully there won’t be any conflict…but i’m sure with all the controllers and joysticks we got access to we should be able to find some kind of agreement.
my plan was to designate the crappiest screens to casuals, but we’ll see how it goes
Really? Is it that hardcore that we all need a single system type tourney?
From what I’ve seen in the past couple of weeks of the Wednesday casuals, the regulars and even the newer people don’t seem to have a specific preference to console.
Yes I think it’s only me and Jason that have converters and Dual Shock 2 pads and we’ve ran into a random problem when we plugged in both our converters into one 360 for some unknown reason. I got a dual modded stick(once again, thanks to chowwun for the excellent mod), DS2 pad, DS3 pad, 360 to DS2 converter and a PS3 to DS2 converter…I am furiously trying to get used to stick atm…
Anyway, however it goes, there should be atleast one 360 to DS2 converter there at the tourney so if it’s decided that it’s a 360 exclusive tourney, it should really slow things down…err unless 2 players face up and they’re Dual Shock pad users. I can say a good 75% of the people there are stick players(I’ve only seen 2 360 pad users and 4 - 6 PS3 pad users).
Anyway, I(Steve/syn13) and my Akuma using friend(Patrick) should be able to make it out, it seems that we alway have a problem waking up on weekends that we miss out on stuff like this(ahem, the most recent one).
I am already predicting my outcome and I say I’ll be last or near the bottom
Heh, from personal experience, running multi console tournaments leads to nothing but disaster.
Also, it’s unfair to people who play characters that are reliant on 1 framers. Obviously i’m coming from a biased perspective, but let’s say… Guile is much easier to play than Abel with inconsistent input delay.
K it might take an hour, since you’re going up Denison, 14th Ave, and then Hwy 7.
Multi console tournaments are fine for smaller tournaments. Or maybe Jon’s just a really good tournament director. Haven’t really had any conflicts, aside from maybe one or two matches having to wait because of pad player issues.
