Just to ask a really basic question that I’m sure has been answered somewhere but I haven’t seen yet:
There’s an offline versus mode for this, right? As in, I can play against friends using the card system (which I love the batshit insanity of, by the way), without having to go online? Or is it strictly against the computer in offline play and against other people in online?
Wasp! Will be great having mini versions of everyone :razzy:
There should be a card with a picture of a giant cannon on it, it would make the characters how weak/powerful they normally are so Phoenix would just instantly kill anyone and Phoenix Wright wouldn’t be able to hit
The side tournament / mystery tournament potentials for this is immense.
Blowing it up with casual friends will be delicious.
Especially with some alcohol.
Can’t wait!
The only problem I have with this mode having no concern for balance is that there will probably be 3 broken cards that everyone would always use to dominate…so then you’d have to start your own little ban list if you wanted to even consider a fun casual tournament
With Heroes and Heralds mode, I’m thinking the main cards that I’m going to be using aren’t really going to be the most ‘broken’ combinations but the most fun ones. Usually involving extra mobility options.
Extra jumps and air dashes, teleportation, new special cancels and combo chains… That sort of thing. It just seems really fun to experiment with stuff like that.
Now broken’s good again? This year has literally been a full circle. I suppose having it as another mode helps, until of course we all discover a card that probably should have been in the main game (mark my words there will be a card set that will be the preferred method of play among the community). Could be worse.
Broken is fine when it’s a “for fun” side mode not directly tied to the core of the game.
Broken is not fine when it’s a character killing 2 characters with a level 1 XFC by just doing magic series shit or filling the whole screen with wall bouncing hellfire.
Looks and sounds like fun. However the pessimist in me. Sorry the pessimist that is me is worried that stuff like this diverts resources that could be used to bring vanilla MvC3 from its current beta test state to an actual fully functional game. Like show me all this flashy extra mode stuff once you’ve shown me that that X-Factor, TACs, etc. aren’t completely retarded and that you know what you’re doing.
