Your post gives the impression that he got nerfed into oblivion, I became very concerned when I read it :razzy: It’s totally cool if you couldn’t get any information, very understandable considering the lines. Don’t worry about it, thanks for the effort!
Ahoy gents, I went to the NYC fight club event and gave Viewtiful Joe a shot. While Joe is not exactly my main, I’ve got the fundamentals down for him. I couldn’t figure out for the life of me how to do the dodge move so unfortunately I did not get to test it (L+S hit me later and I felt stupid) but to those of you worried about about a Mach Speed nerf it definitely did not seem to be changed at all. I reacted to a hyper Sentinel force the moment it started and as usual I went through the first two and got smacked by the last one. About the same to me based on my experience. Joe’s damage seems about the same as it always was. Crouching M still whiffs after crouching L a lot, happened to me whilst fighting Dormammu and Sentinel. Menu art for him is pretty cool too. 
Mach Speed the same= good.
Still crappy hitboxes= bad.
Indeed. Mach speed is the reason I started using Joe to begin with! I think Joe’s toes probably wont get patched as Joe is an overlooked character, but honestly he’s pretty solid as he is. I try to make sure I do c.L->c.H for my starters to avoid this problem but old habits die hard.
Also, folks got SO hype for Joe at the fight club. Clearly no one has ever seen Joe go through everything with Mach Speed before. XD
Keep the hype alive and remain faithful to Joe folks!
Haha, Mach Speed and Air Joe my fav moves of his. I play him cause I love the games and his character.
I try to do cr.l then just go into standing L, M, H, cr.H, Launcer/Groovy Upper/Mach Speed

Yea damn right your fast. I can confirm this cuz he would beat me all the time when i would see him in a random lobby and i would always lose a IAD voomarang war against you.
With Viewtiful Joe getting two new colors in Ultimate Marvel 3 and with the revelation that his colors will be shown this Friday on Capcom Unity, do you guys have any idea what his two new colors would even be?
We already have reference colors for Captain Blue, Dark Hero Jet Black (the final boss of Viewtiful Joe 2) and Alastor / normal Jet Black, so what else is there really? The only other things I could think of were maybe a light blue color in reference to Sexy Silvia and a pink one in reference reference to Jasmine from Double Trouble.
They could give him the two colors from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom he had which were yellow and some odd black and red color. Those would be nice, but who knows.
I don’t know they are allowed to do this, but maybe some crossover costumes? Captain America Joe from the credits? lol
I say Viewtiful Joe gets a Dante costume- remember him in that game, all Viewtiful-style? Haha, shit was great.
Well first of all, the 4th color in TvC was the ‘Another Joe’ Boss from VJ1.
I think they’ll bring back the Unmanly Yellow from TvC too. The yellow is a reference to the same boss from above. When Joe meets him, they have the same outfit and he says something along the lines of ‘Well we cant both be red, so whoever loses has to wear a yellow costume from now on!’
p.s. dante in VJ1 was incredibly legit.
Heres a funny thought- V.Joe gets a Dante costume…and Dante gets a V.Joe costume 
I don’t know what the fourth color was supposed to reference in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, but it definitely wasn’t Another Joe. Another Joe looks exactly the same as regular Joe.
It was like a black and red outfit of some sorts. Here’s a video of someone using it.
I forgot how that looked. Its been a good while since i played tvc lol. But im pretty sure it was still a reference to another Joe. In the game the boss had a slightly darker and more shadowed outline and coloring than the original Joe but only sometimes. and then they kinda took it too far with the tvc color scheme
Played V.Joe at Eurogamer today.
Brief notes:
- Can DHC out of Slow at any point now
- Dodge is pretty good
Apart from that, he was completely the same in every aspect
I’m guessing that means Viewtiful God Hand DHC into Amaterasu’s Vale of Mist works without timing it for the DHC glitch?
does the opponent get slowed when you DHC it? if so thats a pretty huge buff.
