So the opponent definitely can be put into Slow when you DHC out? Great news.

I bet it was just a snapback on the last character, but one can hope.

Also, about the dodge move, can you cancel normals into it and can you do it in the air?

You can cancel normals into it but can’t do it in the air.
I couldn’t find any sort of new special though

All in all, I like him in this game, with a lot of characters being brought down to his level

Joe was never bad, no.
What I meant was, since the hitstun scaling nerf seems to affect almost every character in the game, Joe gets a ‘buff’ just because he can still do his longest combos

So…Did anyone mess around with a Joe/ Magneto team?
I’m not very good with Magneto but I’m loving the options with it so far. Since every time I play Joe I usually have a ridiculous amount of spare meter that I choose not to use unless I get a combo.

But with Magneto if I have the meter I could just burn 4 bars to get an easy 1 mill dmg off Joe’s BnB.
Sounds expensive but I think its worth it IMO. Since IAD Voomerangs and Magneto’s Beam would help alot to get that meter back. Plus, Joes main strength in his spam pressure its getting it first. Having the option of a nice fast poke would help him out.

And of course. They both have some pretty awesome helmets. >.>

Joe VRang’s paired with Em Disrupter assist is so hard to get around. You could murder characters with that alone. Put in a pressure or gtfo assist (or tron who does both!) for V.Joe and Magneto to use when they’re not camping and youve got yourself one gdlk team, imo.

Jintor who has a preview build of UMVC3, has just answered some of the questions I’ve compiled from you guys about Joe! But… he looks mostly the same from Vanilla.

Messing around with Joe/Dante. They work pretty good together. Still trying to get used to his voomerang spam though.

Yeah, he’s definitely veeery similar to his vanilla incarnation, especially compared to other characters.

I’ve never used that assist with Joe before. Right now I’m using Iron man’s OTG assist for Joe air throws.
But I’m thinking if I should replace that for another beam assist or tron.

Since with Joe I havent found much use of setting up throws with him. I think the best was just after an AA/ Heavy Hit stun Groovy Upper and trying to jump after Joe is done his move. Which is hard to do and even harder to catch someone with it. xD

I actually have a really nice throw reset in the corner

Air dash S - cr. M - H - cr. H - S - SJ - air MMH - M Air Joe - H - dj MH - L air joe - H - tj MH - L air Joe - S - Land - Call otg assist (in my case, X-23) - Neutral Jump - Time an H Red Hot Kick to hit directly after the otg - Jab to reset them - Normal jump air throw.

Theres so much happening at once, at the end of a decently long combo most times, people dont even know that the just got reset and can act again. so they dont hit any buttons.

However, Ive also noticed, that throws mess with joes hitstun. Alot. So the best combo ive been able to get after that air throw is (corner specific):

Air Throw - OTG - H upper - H - dj H - M RHK - H RHK - Launch - H - dj H - tj H - H Air Joe - Desperado.

I dont even think you can get in any rhks after the super jump heavys at the end. but the combo is still good, and the meter gain on it is fastastic. and if you really like youre resets, you can combo into slow instead of the launch and go from there
