im a noob at joe so far so what would his BnB be?
I use this. It takes a bit of practice but it is pretty cool.
has anybody looked into possibly using mach speed for mid combo launchers? like in the flash metroid bnb, after the rh dragon kick, using mach speed instead of a basic S?
I dont use that combo, the one ive been using is more of a rendition on the basic magic series, and after slamming them to the ground im looking at using my x 23 assist to otg and using mach speed then instead of the normal S.
thoughts?
No matter what I do I never seem to be able to jump quickly enough after an :h: RHK to continue the combo…can someone tell me what i’m doing wrong?
The thing about using Mach Speed mid combo, is that it hits a ton of times, which racks up the damage scaling and hit stun scaling very quickly. Even using Mach Speed early, you can never really do enough damage in the air afterwards to justify the meter usage. The thing that makes our current BnB so great is that it does the more damage without meter than probably any Mach Speed combo, and builds a free meter in itself. I would say the best way to use Mach Speed mid combo, would be a simple ground chain > Voomerang > Mach Speed > launch > team aerial exchange > whatever. Or to use it as an ender, I would do the full BnB combo > launch > j., j.

I assume you mean something like:

TBH, I’m also unable to do it, but I would recommend the easier more damaging option:

mach speed in general just makes the hit scaling a lot worse. I only see mach speed being used as something to blow through your opponents moves, punish assist spamming, and comboing off a :h:RHK
I think it only works in slow mode, cause they drop slower than usual. but it could also be because im terrible at this game.
This is a serious question. What is so good about Joe? I’ve played more than a thousand matches with Joe on point he extremely fun to play with flashy moves and stuff. But I realized that Joe is a fucking disappointment. I honestly think Capcom just screwed up Joe, low health,low dmg, his combos are harder to prefrom and you only deal 400 or something, no level 3, lacking range…even his ground game sucks and he’s not that fast you think he is.
The way I see it, Joe is high tier at the lowest. He can zone like a motherfucker, IAD Voomerangs are hell to get around. He easily has one of the best close range high low mix ups in the game, his overhead is practically invisible (it IS invisible if you cover him with the right assist) and can combo into everything your heart desires. Yeah low health bites, but it’s not as bad as other characters. His combos are a bit tough at first, but if you’re doing the right one, you should be doing 625k+ with one meter. That’s nothing to scoff at.
His range is probably the worst part about him, but even that is workable. Aside from airdashing Voomerangs to get in, I like to do c.:h: > whiffed :dp:+:m: > airdash as a way to get in. From about midscreen, it’s the perfect distance for a crossup j.:s:. And don’t get me started on his Viewtiful Godhand super… that shit is broken. One combo into Godhand is about 450k. It gives you the easiest reset opportunity ever, leading to a Slow combo that does about 650k, builds a meter in itself, and end in Godhand for free. I can see why Capcom decided to take out his OTG Red Hot Kick, V.Joe is too good, IMHO.

I see joe as the seth of mvc3, hard as hell to use but if you put in the time you will be damn near unstoppable, add in the fact that he has average health makes him many times better.
also what is his official health. the guide made a mistake and put two numbers up, 950 and 880. which one is the real one??
can you guys help me with wesker, i can trash most of the char’s in the game with joe, but i cant fuck with wesker if he has sent backing him, my anchor is the only one who can take wesker

Viewtiful joe combo into relaunching mach speed (does 570kish before the relaunch which you can do a quick A.H then exchange down (for meter).

I tell people this all the time. joe is stupidly hard to use in the context of this game, but he is far far far from bad.
hes not great tho, a lot of those things wario man pointed out are nice, but IAD voomerangs and good mix ups imo isnt in the same level as the raw stupid that is sent/dark phoenix.
his range and health and lack of raw power is a detriment at first. but the character definitely soars in usefulness when you put the work in with him.
although I do agree that for such a little dude, he should be a bit faster than he is.
and I still miss the down C from tvc… he slid so much further…

can slow kill? like just to embarass somebody when they have no life left, and you hit them with slow, what happens?
Haha yeah I’ve killed somebody with it when I wasn’t paying attention to their health, they just get K.O.'d after Joe gives 'em a happy ending :tup: It’s also ridiculing to the opponent if you use Godhand as your 3rd DHC. They’ll probably be close to death anyway, but it’d sure piss ME off
Also, you definitely have a point in that Joe is a very worthy fighter in this game, just not stupidly so. I got no problem putting in some work for a satisfying win. And I gotta agree, can’t think of another overhead in the game that’s as good as Joe’s.
Flashmetroid’s combo is good but its not optimal damage wise because he’s not doing Air Joe’s. Air Joe does more damage than RHK’s. I can do more damage by doing:

Which type of air joe you do on the first one depends on the character. The only character I have trouble doing this on is joe. that’s it. I have another combo for him. Instead I do the :l: Air Joe and then in the third jump I do RHK into Desperado.
Let me just add, however, that Flash’s combo is obviously more optimal when it comes to comboing into Joe’s Slow Super solo.

@Zoogstin: I’m pretty sure you can’t connect the first M -> H after the first Air Joe and instead have to omit the M. Even so I only got around 611 with the sequence you posted using M Air Joe first.
That being said, you can use Air Joe in the regular bnb I posted with very minor changes. Just do…
J.H > bnb until H. RHK > M > H> Launch > M > H > JC > M > H > H Air Joe > Desperado

In my experience, Air Joe creates too much proration unless used at the end of a combo as stated above.
