I just have one question on that Josh Wong vid… How in the blue hell was he tossing those Voomerangs so fast?!? At first, I thought he was TK-ing them, but after some time in training, I can only do a slight variation where I jump, slow my input on the QCF, press ATK, land, do a quick QCF+ATK for the second one. If I’m fast enough, I can get them to combo, but that’s it.
It’s nothing like the speed and fluidity of Wong’s Voomerang play… How’s he doing it?
Good question! The answer is he’s Instant Air-Dashing then canceling the air-dash with the Voomerang. [media=youtube]CpC2u9Nnmnc#t=0m56s"[/media] at 56 seconds in, you see an excellent example of that where he uses it to effectively get in on Sentinel and combo off the Voomerang to kill Sent.
Thanks, man. My friend had theorized that was what he was doing, but I was kind of skeptical. I guess I need to spend some time in the lab to get this down. Really helps with Joe’s approach and lockdown.
Right now I can consistently combo joes Medium air joe in all three of his jumps after a launcher. One thing however is that he can’t cancel into any special moves or supers at the end of the air combo. However, if you only do 2 air joes then he can. Its weird and I dont know why this rule is occuring.
You can only do 3 special/super moves in the air with anybody.
I played at a tourney yesterday. My team is Joe/Deadpool/Morrigan.
I beat a Cap.America/Haggar/Chris and lost to a good Hulk/Sent/Wesker and Tron/Iron Man/Sent.

I just won a local gamestop tourney using wesker/joe/ironman for the most part. I know its nothing big but that was my first MvC3 tourney.

Good performance from Josh Wong and his V.Joe at Winter Brawl 5 tonight, pulled out 3rd place… Not too much new Joe technology though, mostly the same air dashing voomaerangs we saw from the last Josh Wong vid. Hopefully he’ll start incorporating Godhand into his gameplay. Either way, he’s getting results.
I havent seen any big combo’s by him yet. I’m just having a tough time choosing partners for joe right now. There are a lot of characters that compliment him but none that really stand out as head and shoulders above the rest.

i know what you mean i had decided to use wesker joe and doom and i love it i really suggest that you use a otg assist or a low otg assist cuz man setting up unblockables and otg to god hand is soo awsome
I definitely agree, having an OTG assist with Joe is an absolute must. I would use a low OTG assist as well, but I just have no interest in playing Wesker or X-23… I’ve mentioned this a few times, but Shuma will be taking Hulk’s place as my OTG assist, I hope the two have good synergy. I’ve also been having a lot of luck with Tron’s fire assist, I much prefer it to Doom rocks at this point.
