Okay, so I have this MTG card that I want to use as art for my arcade stick. I tried looking online, but couldn’t find a decent hi-res image that I could use. I ended up scanning a copy of the card, but I ran into a new issue. As the card is zoomed in, the imperfections from the printing process begin to show. Now I have Photoshop but am really not that great when it comes to the filters, so I wanted to see if anyone could either help me clean up the card or could give me some ideas what filters or masks I could use. Below is a link to the scan of the card I made. It’s at 1200 dpi and in tif so the image is uncompressed. The file size stands at around 35 megs. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Edit: No longer need anymore, thanks for the help!
I think I ran into that picture, just not sure how that is going to convert into art for my stick as the resolution is a bit low, and it starts getting pixelated when I scale it to fit. For the record, I plan on putting it on my TE, using one of Arthog’s full size Plexi’s to give an idea of the size I am going to ultimately want it.
Hey i have a picture of a m16 and its kind of purpleish, how can i get rid of the purple tint? color balance > ? or a filter > ? its on the same layer as a lot of other stuff so i want to just take out the purple without messing with the other colors to much. thanks.
Okay, now I understand you. When you said ‘it’s on the same layer as a lot of other stuff’ I thought you meant something else. Other effects or adjustment layers.
But you meant the guns are a pattern for stick art and there’s a ton of purple m-16’s all over the place and you didn’t want to lasso all of them.
I don’t know any easy way to do it, I’m not sure if there is. Fastest way would be to to make a new canvas and paste all the guns and the pattern you’re going to want to repeat and duplicate it over and over again.
Here’s a quick and rough fix. So you should be able to do that the way I described in my previous post.
aight ill cut them all out and put them on there own layer. but how did you get it to look that good. how much negative hue and saturation? when i tweak it it just comes out looking blue or yellow or red.
The image looks good in my opinion, but at that size. If it was blown up a little bit more [not to 300 DPI, but enough to match the actual size of the joystick] then maybe there would be some image loss, but nothing to fret over. As for the text, I am digging the font you used but it’s kind of hard to see it, namely the location. If you’re intent on having it there, you should put a STROKE around the text [any color of your choosing] so that way it would stand out more. STROKE basically would mean OUTLINE in this case. If location is not a problem, then in the upper right or anywhere where a majority of white would be the background would be perfect.
