my last mouse is out of work again. who knows, i just use it for 2months. so terrible. now i am confusing what to buy. may i just go withWolf King Trooper MVP Laser Gaming Mousefor 15 bucks or choose Logitech G9 Laser Gaming Mouse for 40 bucks? so plz give me some suggestions.
Logitech MX518 is all you ever need Should be cheap now too.
what games do you play?
I really dislike Logitech G9’s shape. If you want something with a more traditional and ergonomic shape buy the Logitech G5. Logitech MX-518 is good too.
I really like my Razer DeathAdder 3800. I’ve had no issues with it and its got great response.
Here is a write up review also.

What are you looking for in a gaming mouse? The G500 is great for shooters, not so great for MMOGs.
Get the Razer Krait
Best gaming mouse for free hands down
I think you can’t really go wrong with the Razer Deathadder 3500.
The Deathadder is a great mouse, and my current mouse BUT I prefer my previous mouse, the razer/microsoft habu. Its very similar in shape to the death adder but it has a few more features and is more customizable.
Here’s the write up

edit: I think its about the same price as the Deathadder too!
Man thats a pretty slick mouse. I dont recall seeing that here in the states so far.
I second the Logitech MX518. I’ve used that thing for years and it hasn’t disappointed. Not once. And it is quite cheap now too. However, if you’re willing to spend the extra cash in the future, also take a look at the Razer Imperator:

IMO it’s the closest gaming mouse I could find that matches the same feel and comfort that I get from the Logitech MX518
Logitech MX500, MX510, MX518, g5, g5 v2, and g500 are all essentially the same body. The oldest is the mx500 and the newest is the g500. I’d say go with the g500.
I still own a G5 and it’s a great mouse. From the g5 forward they all have larger feet on them for a smoother glide and longer life. It’s really helpful. They’re also laser and have weight tuning systems so you can customize the balance.
i have spent A LOT of time thinking about and experimenting with my gaming setup both for fighting games and PC games (i play FPS). here’s what i found
most of the actual “gaming mice” are pretty shitty for gaming and full of marketing fluff. the most important thing about a mouse are the actual physical characteristics, namely the shape and the weight (lighter is generally better)
most of the top quake players actually use the wmo http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-D66-00069-Wheel-Optical-Mouse/dp/B00025O7FC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1274980204&sr=8-1
hard to believe i know but turns out dpi matters very little. also this mouse has no prediction (also known as correction or angle snapping). a LOT of mice have prediction which you can tell immediatly by trying to draw a straiht line in ms paint. you should NOT be able to do that if it doesn’t have prediction. perhaps prediction might help you aim in the short term but what your hand did is what you want so no prediction is better.
another important factor is max perfect tracking speed. you can move the mouse very fast and you need it to track the same at any speed. lot of mice have sensors that will give you positive or negative acceleration.
i actually found a video that explains the important stuf to consider
here is an old test http://esreality.hexus.net/?a=post&id=1265679 it’s the the first of it’s kind and it’s not perfect but it explains why a mouse is good for gaming
here is a relatively new thread discussing the mice the top quake live players are using. http://esreality.hexus.net/?a=post&id=1836580
wmo = wheel mouse optical, the mouse i showed above, the one i use myself
imo = intellimouse optical. same sensor as wmo, but different shape
ie 3.0 = intellimouse 3.0. again, same sesnor as the above but different shape
there are tohre good mice such as the steelseries xai, the logitech mx518 (has prediction) and others you’ll see mentioned in that thread
btw it lists cypher as using the abyssus which goes to 1800 dpi but he uses it at the lowest setting of 450 dpi.
here’s a picture of rapha, arguably the best quake player at the moment, after winning the last major quake live tournament http://www.esl-world.net/masters/season4/hannover/gallery/event/50875137/ as you can see, he uses the wmo (he’s sponsored by steelseries so the logo is on the mouse but it’s a wmo)
i actually bought almost all these mice to experiment with. i got a mouse graveyard with like 10 mice to see for myself what the truth was and i settled on the cheapest mouse on the list, the WMO. the beauty is in it’s shape and very light weight and the sensor has no prediction. i own the g500, i own the abysses, the deathadder, the imperator, imo, ie 3.0, etc etc and trust me when i say the “gaming mice” are mostly just fluff.
hahaha hope it wasn’t tl;dr but if you did read, you should now know everytihng you ever will need about gaming mice
Deathadder FTW
I bought a G500 back in November to replace my old MX510. I’ve been very pleased with it. I like the textured grip much better than the rubbery sides of Logitech’s other mice.
The G9x and G500 share the same sensor, and the SteelSeries Xai uses a slightly different version of the sensor to allow for all the settings they let you tweak on the Xai.
What’s up man. I used to work for Xoxide.com before we sold the company and am a pretty big gaming nerd. Those Wolf King products are pure garbage. We got a lot of returns on them.
I had purchased a Razer Diamondback my first week of working there, and have had the same one for 4 years now. Easy to program, great durability. You really can’t go wrong with a Razer.
The Logitechs aren’t too shabby either, although I’ve only used one once. I know some of them come with optional weights as well to better suit your comfort. We almost never got a return for Razer or Logitech.
Although my gf had a death adder and it went bad after a month, but Razer was very quick to send a brand replacement out asap.
Just putting my 2 cents in. Just remember you get what you pay for. A lot of those cheaper mice are less costly for a reason. Good luck with your choice!
Amen. Best mouse EVER
Razor Imperator. Has a better shape than all the other Razors, and it smokes anything made by Logitech. It is awesome!
My company orders only those microsoft mice. There durable and not bad but I dont find them to be as ergonomic as I would like. Not a bad mouse though. They go for like 7-15 dollars if I recall correctly
