I like my G5. Got it on sale for $35.
i use the logitech GX9, only mouse you will need. Previously used to the GX9 was my BF2142 Limited Edition G5 which served well, someone stupid enough swapped me for their new GX9.
Anyways i use this mouse for Bad Company 2/Modern Warfare 2 and basically anything on the PC, has huge pads underneath it give a smooth glide on my Razer Manits Goliath mouse pad. IMo the only mouse anyone needs for gaming. The logitech software is easy to customise and you will rack up the knife kills in no time 
the other mouse worth looking at is the coolermaster sentinal which has dual laser lights if you that hardcore.
Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 is the best mouse I have ever used for anything, having even played with it at a sponsored, professional level (tS|, CS1.6/S)
It’s like 25 bucks, too. They outlasted my Razer mice by months. The teflon wore down long before I had any mechanical faults with them, which I can’t say for any other mouse I’ve used.
I use the Logitech G5 + Xtrac RipperXL. Silky smooth. Wireless is not my thing. I love the “rough” texture to it & the braided cable. Very high quality. Good luck!
also use a g5 here, cant complain with that mouse, affordable too.
I love the Microsoft Intelli Mouse 3.0
The shape is perfect and the optical sensor is one of the best.
Using my old Razer Deathadder though atm, I like its buttons better and its almost the same shape as an IME 3.0
Favorite mouse ever. I have 4 of them. Tried the G5/G7/G9, back to the MX518.
I use a mx518. How long do they generally last? I play css and upgrading from a ball mouse was a HUGE difference. It’s like going from huggies to big boy underwear. I like how you can switch the dpi too.
