I have a big problem fighting against chun. Ive a decent footsies and I can control my space, but when I can score a knockdown and she have meter it seems that EX SBK on wakeup ruins my game, does this move need a special timing for meaties or something? I know that i can wait and then punish but if i do this every time i lose my okizeme and i can get thrown, theres something special I can do or its this another of the tools that makes chunli retarded?
Try blocking and then reversal SA3:P I’m not exactly sure on what you would want to hear. There’s no special trick to beat wakeup reversals such as shoryuken and spinning bird kick.
Ken doesn’t really have a move that can stuff her EX SBK easily (like Ryu can just stuff it with a f+MP). It’s safest to walk back a bit, block, then reversal SA3. You can try parrying if you know it’s coming.
I think that I read somewhere that s.hk beat SBK, thats why I doubted at first, but when I tried it I always get hit, so I shouldve been confused, sorry.
Thats all I wanted to know, thanks to both of you, Ill try to not be predictable and punish that shit.
Does Ken’s DP have invincible start up frames? I know that a wake up DP stuffs EX SBK if ken got knocked down and Chun was still up, but im not sure about the other way. Some of Ken’s SA’s should work, if anyone comes up with something, let me know. I plan on learning Ken next.
All of Ken’s SRKs have no invincibility. But they have strange hitboxes sometimes though O_O I can dp Yun out of cross up dive kick dping away from him. Ken’s back shoulder hits the kick.
thats because you hit Ken out of his srk range, meaning his invincibility wore off and you hit him… try it from closer reaver, you know im right, and close hp gets beaten everytime.
Meaty sweep beats it from any range, but no one is gonna stand next to his opponent when sweeping:P Then there’s the genei-jin divekicking that stuffs HP srk in any situation… True invincibility would mean something like shoryuken beating supers that have shorter startup then the shoryuken, such as Ken’s SA3. Noone even bothers that. Makoto’s SA3 has invincibility which means everything will whiff during her SA activation. Ken’s HP srk can be beat at any time during startup. But only by moves that are quite risky to do up close anyways:P
Invincibility means opponents whiff hits that are going through other character’s sprite. Makoto SA3 is the most clear cut example of such a thing happening. In Guilty Gear there are more things like it, for example the VV which has invincibility where the flame is(during start up, the flame covers Sol entirely) and the forward punch which on most characters has upperbody invincibility. Good example of the latter is where I’ve managed to have OS forward punch I-no’s note where the note completely passed through OS.
Evasion by ducking under moves is not invincibility but something that closely relates to it. The main difference is that people don’t go WTF? the first time they see it.
