thanks. im such an idiot, i asked a stupid question and then looked it up on google. why didnt i do that in the first place? haha.
OK, on QDs, I am just waiting on some pricing. Though I have a 1,000 .110 coming (For sanwa and seimitsu stick). Will will switch as soon as we can, but I don’t want to delay orders because of it. We have had very little problems with solder, and I still believe it’s a better connection than a QD. However, helping customers with a problem is much easier with QDs, so that is why we are switching.
We do hot glue the sanwa and seimitsu buttons with a touch of glue. Back when Imitrex got his stick we probably got a little carried away with the hot glue. Just wanted to make sure those clear buttons did not loosen causing the artwork to spin around and be out of place.
Eitherway it’s not hard to get the buttons out. The old way, just unscrew the button using the microswitch and the nuts will remained glued to the wood until they are all out, then you can remove the nuts. The new way we just use a little dab so it’s not hard to get the button out if you need too. Not matter what, Sanwa and Seimitsu screw in buttons will come loose over time, so the glue is needed.
As for the side buttons. They are either seimitsu or sanwa based on the color since sanwa doesn’t make a 24mm black or white button.
The button by itself if start
The other two are guide/home back/select
Ed
Doh, sorry for the wrong info there. Ed has spoken.
How much will it be to get QD? I know the material costs around $1 for 10 units, but I do not know how much the effort will cost.
We won’t up the charge at all because it won’t be an option. We will fully switch to them.
Plus I guess it’s less solder smoke inhaling by my crew, so that’s a good thing.
Thanks for doing it as a service. I am sure lots of people here are happy to hear about this news today.
Nice, quick disconnects. I wouldn’t mind that just to change the “button colors” out of sheer boredom
I have the pleasure to play on an Arcade in a Box unit and it is extremely worth the wait.
Quick question. Is it possible to get a Slim Arcade with a perfect 360?
This is fantastic news, I’m now really looking forward to receiving my stick. It’s nice to know I can replace my buttons easily, in case any of them break.
Can’t wait for the PS2 sticks to come back.
It is not possible (I am 100% sure that I am correct about this), since the P360 will not fit with a small depth of the Slim Arcade case.
I was told that P360 is only available for the True Arcade which is what I ended up getting just for the P360 joystick.
Oh man it sounds like QD are coming soon. It was a blessing in disguise that I ordered when I did. Ed do you think my stick will have qd’s? 1493.
This is great news Ed! I have my Madcatz TE which I’m happy with but let us know when QD’s are official! I’ll put in an order for one!
I know I gave you the wrong info with your earlier question, but I am sure this time around. I also went to the link and the P360 Joystick for $38 more is missing as designed.
You may be right. I am a PS3 owner, so I don’t pay any attention to the 360 side of things.
Not to get you confused, we were referring to “Perfect 360” from Happ Controls
http://www.arcadeinabox.com/joysticks.html
If you check the bottom of that thing, you can understand why the Slim Arcade model cannot support this joystick
Can you get more than 2 consoles on one stick?
I would like Gamecube, PS2, PS3, 360, and Dreamcast.
That would be so sweet if Ed/Toodles could pull that off though from what I am hearing, they are trying. I would buy one for 400 if I had the dough.
So far not many places offer dual system stick for a commission.
for someone who plays 50% the time on a table and 50% lap, would it be better to go with the slim or the true arcade? ie: how’s the slim arcade when playing on a table vs. true arcade on my lap? thanks.
I find the TA way to tall to use comfortably in my lap.
