Yeah, I did think about shutting down the store for a period of time but I was afraid that would give the wrong impression. I’m confident I can right the ship on this, and I know I am asking a lot from people on their patience.
I think it may have been blocked or something because ed has responded to my emails more than half a dozen times. Always a couple days later, but not six weeks.
Right the end quality is what matters. I’ll be playing sf4 for years. I can wait a few weeks for a quality stick.
no problems here getting in contact with ed via email. just hope i get my stick by february.
Contact with Ed has been good on my end. Ordered around 12/11. Had success with emails to info-AT-arcadeinabox.com. One phone call was not returned, but I figured he was too busy. I do think that though he is swamped, he has tried to give good customer service to myself and others.
Looks like you’ll be getting your stick soon, DeLorean. Let us know what you think and if the wait was worth it. I think it will be.
i echo all the above comments.
ordered mine nov 12th so i think i have been waiting the longest but the communication from ed has been first class.may have taken a couple of days to get a reply but i put that down to the time difference between the usa and uk.
he has been more than patient with me and my requests as i have been with him and the order.
i will admit that when i was told it would be another 10 or so days because of the order for the artwork i was abit dissappointed, but after seeing the size of that order list and reading how many orders he has had to do over the last month, im surprised it isnt a longer wait.
if ever i am in the market for another arcade stick then on customer service alone ed will get the order.
Thanks all, but I am not going to say I am a saint that gets to every email. It’s more than possible I missed emails from some folks and do apologize. Phone calls I am really bad about. I usually check my voice mail in the evening and write down people to call back and just don’t get to it. Email is always the best, but try calling if I don’t answer just email.
Also, once the new shop is opened all of the staff will be trained in answering the phone. Right now I spend a lot of time in the shop part running the CNC and other lound tools and wear ear protection. I don’t hear the phone ring.
All good things take time
Working in a field where I have to interact with lots of businesses (both large and small) on a daily basus. . I think Ed has done a good job of communicating status to people and that is more than I can say for other businesses. .
Heck. . doing the math. . I’m surprised he isn’t charging more for what he is providing.
Ha, don’t think I haven’t thought about that too :). It was a tough call, but even though the demand is high, I didn’t think it was fair to jack up pricing considering I was really the only one making sticks reasonably fast. It would feel like price gouging to me so I left it. Plus, now with the Madcatz stick almost here, I at least to try and keep the pricing close.
take your time ed
If the product I receive is top tier Ill be asking you for a couple more of sticks for sure
thanks for providing such a service
200 is what I paid and it’s about the maximum I would pay for ps3 stick with custom options. The SF4 TE with a happ stick would have been plenty serviceable, but not “special.” So that would have been about 160 bucks. I included shipping in that 200 though, so really I guess I would be willing to pay 220 with shipping. I essentially think ed’s stick is worth the 40 extra dollars.
At some point around 250 I think I would balk. It’s hard to say. If the TE didn’t exist I might go all the way up to 300.
I would imagine it would be hard to find the perfect balance to figure a price that will attract customer as well as being enough to cover the overhead of running a business that Ed mentioned. Hopefully AIAB becomes a profitable business in the near future.
With the MadCatz TE edition preorders being fulfilled in a lot of places, I think there will still be a demand for a quality X360 stick or a quality HAPP parts based stick. I just felt the opportunity to get a dual system, arcade frame, and HAPP parts was priceless, even though it was worth 281.
I was wondering if Ed has enough time to look into the AXISdapter from ShinJN, to possibly offer wireless PS3 sticks.
I was going to say I think the price ed charges is more than fair. I guess it wouldn’t be right to say that before I got the product but I have a feeling I won’t be disappointed.
Considering the quality of these sticks, I think Ed’s sticks are a bargain. And I have probably 30 or so arcade sticks, so I have had plenty to compare. Anyways, heres my MK setup PS3/X360 Slim Arcade Custom…

Ed, i ordered an IL eurostick, will it have those screws near the joystick? I could have sworn i saw other sticks of yours without those screws. I would really like my stick without the screws if possible.
How close are these guys sticks to making something like a HRAP?
Also how do you get these sticks to work on x360 and ps3? :amazed:
On the pictures on the webpage, I see screws on the non-Sanwa joysticks. All the Sanwa joysticks based look free of screws.
That is some nice MK artwork to go along your MK layout based stick, HAN. Thanks for sharing the picture.
I can only respond to your first concern from what I know…
Between a HRAP3 (non SA edition) and the typical AIAB Sanwa stick
They share the same joystick
AIAB offers better quality Sanwa buttons while HRAP offers Hori buttons
HRAP offers a turbo feature while to my knowledge AIAB does not offer it (I do not care about this personally)
HRAP is made out of plastic casing and AIAB arcade case is made of wood.
AIAB sticks are more arcade realistic to me than what HRAP claims it sets out to do.
Looks like SFIV cabs near the controllers are made out of plastic, with some metal to screw things in to. So if plastic is the standard in Japan for recent arcade cabinets, I’d say they hit near the mark.
Personally I prefer wood.
Awesome stuff. My buddy Phl did that artwork. Its pretty awesome.
But as nice as your stick is…
