hi ed,
i know your slim arcade sticks are designed to be lighter and for lap play. but can they also be used comfortably for table/floor play?
hi ed,

Happ buttons are 28mm
Sawna/Seimitsu Play buttons are 30mm, while the start buttons are 24mm
From what I can tell, the only difference is the height of the box. I hope the slim I just ordered is good for a table, because that’s how I intend to use it. I wanted something shorter so my hands would be a more comfortable level.
Yes, you are notified when it ships and you get a tracking number.
I’m still a bit behind from my vacation. For some reason (Maybe SCIV release) I got a ton of orders the week before I left, so I am still trying to catch up.
If you are at the 4 week mark, it’s probably very close to being shipping. Either tomorrow, or mid next week. Sorry for the delay.
If you ever have questions about the order feel free to email or call me as well.
The slim works fine on either. It’s just the True arcade doesn’t work that great on your lap.
The slim is very comparable in height to the hori stick.
Hi Ed. Was thinking of emailing you but I’ll just post my question here. How come the headjack doesn’t work with the 360 headset? Isn’t the plug the same size as the original xbox headset? I am waiting to save some money to get one of the two system sticks. They look great! Also how do I go about picking colors for buttons and trim. There is no option in the fill out order. Thanx in advance.
JCL,
The 360 headset has that big plastic piece around the plug, that’s why it doesn’t fit.
If you order a custom, after you checkout I will send you a link to a form to fill our for your color options and to upload artwork if you upgraded.
Oh is that all. I think I can mod my head set to make it work. Thanks for the reply.
Just so it’s clear, if you don’t order the custom option, you get a choice of 3 color “themes.” For each theme, the stick, buttons, and trim are the same color. If you get one with a button upgrade, the red and white options come with Sanwa buttons, while the black comes with Seimitsu (since Sanwa doesn’t make a black button).
Just thought I’d point out newer 360’s or atleast mine no longer have the headset with the big plastic piece. It’s just a normal jack like the regular xbox.
Correct.
Wow, that’s good to know. Thanks.
New review is up from IGN on the hybrid stick.
IGN hooked ya up with a nice write up Ed
Great to see an excellent review from IGN. I definitely would have gone for the dual PS3/Xbox360 combo stick if I didn’t already own 2 VSHG’s.
Great to hear, although calling it a custom SIXAXIS isn’t exactly accurate. Otherwise, great job Ed!
lol…
Yeah I know, I corrected a few things in the comments that the review had wrong. I was going to mention that as well, but it slipped my mind.
What can you do. Every review I have had seems to add random facts that I have no idea where they came from, because I jus told him they were custom made PCBs. Never mentioned Sixaxis so I’m not sure where that came from :).
Took the plunge
Hello Ed.
I was posting awhile ago asking about PS3 sticks and recently discovered it had all been worked out and was backward compatiable too boot- so you’ve got yourself another order :woot: PS3 True Arcade Stick- can’t wait to get it!!
Thanks
Aaron
Great, I will look forward to building it for you.
Thank You,
Ed
While it isn’t technically accurate, I don’t see it as a big deal that they referred to the controller as a custom Sixaxis. I think they were just using “Sixaxis” as synonymous with a PS3 controller, adding “custom” to indicate it wasn’t made by Sony.
Or were you concerned people might think it has motion sensing?
