I haven’t had a chance to post about the Xbox360 Slim Arcade joystick (full Sanwa) you just completed for me. Everything looks wonderful. Excellent build quality and everything is very well put together. It’s a HUGE step up from the available Xbox360 joysticks I’ve used (Hori DOA4, etc.). I have two Virtua Stick High Grades for the PS3 and the joystick you built feels exactly the same. My only regret is that I didn’t have any great custom artwork.
Thanks again for the great work. I’m not even sure how I would have played Soul Calibur 4 and now I won’t have to limit which verison of Street Fighter 4 I want based on joystick.
Toker,
Thank you, I am glad you are enjoying it so much. I didn’t even know you had ordered a stick since I only know the real names of people from the orders :).
If you are unsure, just send me the image and I will put it on the template in illustrator and then export it to the correct DPI and size for printing.
sigh still waiting for mine. for now i have to contend with a shitty, hori real arcade pro, what A waste of 160$$. Hopefully your sticks are as good as i have read, i’ll prolly end up buying a PS3 one as well. Also is the PS3 stick compatible with the ps2?
sigh to bad you cannot print trade marked art, i had good image for my box.
HRAP’s are the best stock sticks out there. It’s not a waste of money unless you lack hands. And Ed’s sticks are great, and no the ps3 stick is not compatible with the ps2.
Hori Real Arcade Pro’s are only shitty if you don’t like Japanese style parts. Otherwise, they’re the best you can buy. However, Hori Fighting Sticks are terrible unless modded.
I could probably use the first one, but not he second since it has the capcom logo on it. For the first one, it would better to just recreate it in illustrator.
The slim arcade comes stock with a comp stick and happ buttons. So to answer your question, yes it does, barely. It won’t fit P360 sticks though.
something seems to be wrong with my stick then, cause its not as responsive as it should be in my opinion. Seems like i really have to work to get diagnols in 3s, even more so in ST.
on PS2. My PS3 is just gathering dust until a game worth playing comes out. using both hd and sd tvs, doesnt matter i still have to grind out the diagonals. prolly have a defective stick or something, just seems unnatural to put so much effort into doing a dragon punch.
I know this is starting to go OT (sorry Ed), but are you grinding the walls? If you are, try not to ride the walls when doing moves. The Sanwa stick that comes in HRAPs need a very small push to activate the microswitches. If you listen to the stick as you slowly push the stick in one direction, it’ll click before it hits the wall. It takes a bit of getting used to, but the stick is a lot easier to use when you don’t ride the wall.
the stick is defective, i have to touch the walls to get any response out of it in any direction. I gave it to my little cousin. Just waiting for my arcade in box to come through the mail. Sorry for shitting on your thread Ed, did not mean to.
Yeah,
I’m going to hold off until next week probably. Let the ps3 press release sink in a bit. Funny it came out the same day as the madcatz/capcom release
