Hello, from Arcade-In-A-Box (10% Off Coupon SRK10)

Making sticks is just a sidebusiness for them. I think they own a print shop or something.

LOL:rofl:

ok then…

FUCK YOU CAPCOM.

There, I feel better.

Arcade In A Box =>

Capcom => :lame:

Tarzan, good point.

One thing I am is honest. In the letter I wrote to them I said in the past I had used their characters before I knew it wasn’t right. I went to custom artwork that did not specifically show any of their characters and to please let me know which artwork was a problem on the current website so I could remove it. They didn’t bother to respond, but I thought I would just take the action and remove all of the artwork and make my life easier.

I’m don’t have to worry about it anymore. I will sign their little letter and fax it back by the 7th like they instructed.

It is kind of fun when these big companies think Arcade-in-a-Box is so much bigger than it really is. They probably think I was pushing out thousands of sticks with their characters on them.

Sorry to be so vulgar, but this really does piss me off.

As much as I wish you were doing those kind of numbers, your not and this is only for a very small portion of gaming public.

We need a reinassance in video games, and you are helping people do that.

I just dont fucking understand ignorance sometimes.

Hey Ed, you should put pics of your sticks with Scorpion from MK on one, Venom fro Marvel on another and Mudman from SNK on another.

:wgrin:

Has anyone tried the Rollie Electronics ball top stick?
http://www.retroblast.com/Hardware/RetroBlast-Review-The-Rollie-Electronics-4_8-Way-Adjustable-Joystick.php

I know everyone loves their sanwa stick, but I’m just looking around to see if there is a joystick that is 1. Easier to get. 2. Cheaper to get and 3. Works just as well as a Sanwa.

I won’t stop selling Sanwa sticks, just curious if there is something pretty decent for a basic model. Maybe someone that wants a ball top, but doesn’t want to shell out the $30 bucks Sanwa JLF sticks are going to costs in the near future most likely.

It’s just a Seimitsu LS-40-01 (the old Neo Geo joystick) or a knockoff as LS-40s are the only Japanese joysticks that come with non-black shaft covers. You can’t bottom mount them in wood (The Seimitsu LS-32, LS-33, and LS-40 are all meant to be mounted right below a metal control panel and are unsuitable for wood without plexiglass. The “S-shaped” mounting plate available for the LS-32 and LS-40 is so that they can be mounted at the right height in most Sanwa panels. The LS-33 does not have an s plate available for it as it is a more compact stick that is ment for control panels with little room available.) If you want a Japanese stick that is cheaper than the JLF and bottom mountable in wood, you can try the Seimitsu LS-56 (-01. The 01 suffix on Seimitsu joysticks indicates that the stick uses a 5-pin, Sanwa JLF-compatible connector instead of the usual microswitch terminals.) The Seimitsu LS-55 is also bottom mountable in wood but the LS-55 is just basically an LS-33 with a longer shaft and stiffer spring. The LS-56 seems to be more popular than the LS-55. You can also get octagonal gates for them.

Ed, why are Sanwa sticks costing your close to $30? Who is your supplier? Ponyboy/Rollie Electronics? You could probably get the sticks cheaper by getting them directly from Sanwa, Seimitsu, or even Per/TheRealNeoGeo at www.akihabarashop.jp

for more info on japanese joystick brands/models check out this new webpage made by an SRK member: http://www.slagcoin.com/joystick/attributes_brands.html

Kowal’s website has great info but it’s in Polish (Hint: use a web translator):

No, they are not that expensive right now, but I have no doubt they soon will be with the way the dollar is going. I’m just looking toward the future and I want to be prepared when SFIV comes out :). Plus, I’m trying to get my new pricing done and if I knew a set price for a while that would be better.

Sanwa has stopped dealing directly with a lot of vendors, so it’s starting to get tough to get them in smaller quantity.

However, my current vendor in hong kong that is getting me obsn-30 buttons at a great deal might be able to swing the same deal for the sticks. I have to see. They do deal directly with Sanwa. At least they did, waiting to hear back to see if they were cut off too.

Thats interesting…Any idea why they aren’t dealing direct? Is semitsu doing the same thing?

I’m not sure about seimitsu, I get that stuff from akihabarashop

I don’t know why they are doing it, but I’ve talked to a few vendors that just are no longer getting any response from Sanwa.

Yep, I’d bet they are planning something for both SFIV AND SFII HD Remix. They’d be DUMB not to.

Nah, your stuff is way better. The consumer-grade drivel they ship to GameStops is garbage, and how dare you stand in the way of them fleecing people into thinking they are buying “real” arcade components (when it’s really pressed cardboard and knock off components)!?!? Heheh. :looney:

Edit: Oh, but on a more serious note… I’m not a lawyer but I did hear a while back that copyright holders need to protect their copyright immediately, that if you (for example) wound up operating using their graphics for a few years and they didn’t fight it the second they found out… Then you might stand a REAL chance in court at keeping the ability to use their product. It’s some sort of statute of limitations or grandfather clause. “I did it for two years, why is it a problem all of the sudden”.

Site is back up.

I still have some work to do. Everything is 3d models right now until I get my new artwork to make up some sticks for pictures.

One more thing, success on the ps3 pad hack. Madcatz are pretty simple. I’ll be building a test stick over the weekend hopefully and start having them for sale early next week.

That’s good news to me. Looking forward to hear the result!

YES!

To Ed,
Why do you insist on a default pattern? Plain black man, plain black!

That looks like a Seimitsu LS-56-01:

http://akihabarashop.jp/developments/imagemagic.php?img=images/seimitsu-LS5601.jpg

with a sub guide on it (the yellow one) and a P-40 mountingplate:

Either way, that is not molded after Sanwa but Seimitsu.

Any plans to do blank stick versions of the smaller design ?

Does anybody here know if the upcoming PS3 stick will work with PS2 games? Could I play alpha anthology and anniversary collection with it through my Ps3 or do i have to buy a PS2 stick?

Gojeran,
My PS3 isn’t backwards compatible so I can’t test this. I use Madcatz wired controllers for the sticks, so I guess you could check the net and see if anyone has problems with Madcatz ps3 pads and ps2 games.

Hey Ed, how can it not be backwards compatible. Aren’t all of the newer versions done with software emulation?
