Hello, from Arcade-In-A-Box (10% Off Coupon SRK10)

i didnt know you can hook those acade system (MVS, Jamma ects…) to a regular TV…

Ed,

what kind of warranty do you offer on your sticks if any?

Ed’s total arcade setup is pretty cool isn’t it. Component, Composite, S-Video, and RCA audio, and he’s got the kickers for CPS1/2. I was looking at those too after taking a look at the Xbox 360 sticks. TEMPTING. SO TEMPTING.

I am anxious to see that new design. The current one he’s got going looks pretty good but it’s basically MAS with some spit polish. That new one looks like it might be pretty cool.

there is nothing wrong with a MAS-like design + some spit polish.

your 360 sticks made it to the front page of xbox scene.

Sent you an email Ed. I didn’t see this picture on your website so I thought I’d post it here because I think it’s a really nice looking stick and figure people will want to see what you can do, hope you don’t mind :wgrin:

MASes are like AMC gremlins, his super gun’s like a Cadillac. the encoder’s superior than MAS’

Good looking stick but really makes you want to spring for the art work too.

Ed, when you get the chance I still wanna know about the warranty if any. Thanks.

Ed, are the buttons happ ultimates or another kind of concave buttons? i’m looking for these concave buttons that have a really soft spring like in the arcades.

Ed,

Also, is there a choice of spring tension?

Of the six sticks, the two on the right side have a round rather than squarish piece on the bottom, which is very similar to the tekken 5 dr japanese sticks found by default in most cabinets. They click, have 8 directions, and are very great for me to use in tekken because I can use them faster than I can other sticks, such as in the tekken 5 10th anniversary for some reasons I cannot quantify without better tools.

I like a wide bottom case so I can sit on a stool/chair/sofa and not worry about balance. I like the button layout on the saulabi sticks because it feels more natural. However be warned many korean made sticks are bad. Leaf switch sticks found by default in saulabi are terrible in design and feel, even though the sticks are quite responsive at first use. Also the other four in that picture with the square-like bottoms have some difficulty registering angles for some people, I haven’t used them to my knowledge.

But for sure the ones on the right side are great and then it’s just a matter of preference.

1 year, unless you drop it in the toilet or fling it at your wall in a fit of Street Fighter rage.

Yeah, they are the happ ones.

Hmm, not that I have seen. I could try doubling the spring, or replacing the spring with a happ vertical button. Those seem much tighter.

I can do that and send you one if you want to check it out and see if it feels any better. Just PM me your address

Guys, I’m sorry I’ve been so bad about responding here. This recent press release really sent me into a frenzy over the last 24 hours. With a lot of orders, plus everyone website/blog/magazine on the planet it seems wants a “review” unit. I’m trying to sort through the hundreds of emails to get my sanity back :).

Don’t be shy about emailing me if you have a question and it seems like a bit slow to respond here. I have a blackberry, so I’m always near my email :).

I’m also going to do the “X” design with White melamine next. I promise to take pictures this time ;).

I think he is talking about joysticks, not buttons, as you can you buy a hard/heavy spring for the Happ Competition joystick (Lizard Lick has it) for extra tension.

May you please take interior pictures of the current design also?

No worries as far as I am concerned on the response time, I am in on hurry.

However, as far as the spring goes, I am actually interested in a realy loose spring, MAS gives us the option of either. Once SFHD is released I am probbaly getting your stick unless someone releases a PS2 to PS3 or X360 converter. I just wanted to know if you could provide the same option or do I have to replace the spring that comes with your stick with on older one of mine? I would prefer yours comes that way.

Yeah, I was talking about the spring for the stick. Thanks Evi_Sam.

The Happ Ultimate Joystick is the one with the loose spring. I don’t think Ed lists them as an option because they are generally considered to suck (check my FAQ) and there is little demand for them. You can probably work something out with him if you really want it. I strongly recommend you get a Happ Competition in your stick.

Yeah, I have a few Ultimates laying around I can steal the springs from.

Yes I will take pictures of the innards on my next build

I have a Happ Competition stick on my current stick as well all the ones from my past, I’ve just requested the looser spring for the first stick and moved to all subsequent sticks there after. I was hoping of having a X360 stick the way I wanted it and keeping my current stick in tact. Thanks for the info Evil and Ed.
