Try to fix it yourself, to insure all of your files are safe.
How did it die? I would seriously consider not sending it back to Sony, most likely it will come back with a fresh install.
Take it to a local shop or send it to me and I’ll fix it myself. I don’t want you to lose all the work you’ve done.
it just didn’t turn on today. My brother has the same computer and I tried his power adapter and charged battery, but mine still didn’t turn on. I took out the battery for now to see if it’s just my motherboard locked, hoping it will reset.
It did seem to be bogging down A LOT last night…
You could pull the hard drive out and slave it into your bros computer and copy your important stuff off, just in case.
BTW, I use www.carbonite.com for my backups now. They are like $50 a year and backs up everything onilne. The first backup takes a while obvioulsy, but after that I never notice it backing up. You just select folders you want to back up and it takes care of it :).

i have too much fear of screwing his up. He’s also a designer and an electronic musician of 10 years. If he lost his files it would be the end of the world for him.
we’ll see what happens… hopefully my motherboard will reset.

One other thing you could do, is get an external USB Harddrive case. Then you could just put your drive in there and plug it into another computer to transfer files.
OK, enough of that. Hopefully you get it worked out.

Yes, dimensions are taken directly from the UMK3 manual which has the layout with dimensions.
