Well replacing one card in a deck won’t break most.
it’s useful for my rogue as well since backstab -> evis combo on a big dude, takes up 2 cards and having a big game hunter in hand can ease up on the card use if the situation arises while having a minion on the field that I could buff with DoA/Cleric/Dark Iron. Or like you said I could buff with Dark Iron and get them into BGH range.
It’s a good card overall, slightly situational but the reward is huge for how cheap it is.
BGH goes in and out of style. With druid popular and more late game decks he is not going to go away. The first slot for his type is going to be taken by tinker most likely, but a lot of decks like to run more so that is when BGH comes in. The decks running abusive’s and dwarfs should consider him as well because you just buff the enemeys 5/5 or 6/6 and then kill it.
I’m playing a warrior poverty OTK deck for ranked and it’s beyond hilarious. I can imagine the guy on the other side thinking out his strategy: “alright his board is empty he’s got 10 life, I still have 25 life I just need to do this and that I got plenty of cards a rag on my board this is pretty much ov-” when suddenly he’s smashed in the face twice by a worgen for 20 some some damage then I decapitate him with my arcanite reaper, a look of surprise and possibly disgust plastered on his face. So many games just…abruptly end before anyone even has 10 mana crystals. I almost feel it’s worse than a rush deck in terms of not carrying about wtf your opponent is doing.
Can have problems with druids is they can get a lot of early armor that I can’t wittle away. warlock rush decks can also be a pain if I don’t draw the right cards. Will need some tweaking when I’m not poverty status anymore but man is it fun.
rofl, ain’t nothing remotely “vanilla” about druids. Versatile is an understatement. Every kind of nuke and board wipe you can think of, crazy minion buffs, armor and attack damage for the hero, charge creatures, taunt creatures, 2 crystal druid coin, druid perma coin, silence, card drawing, healing, the list just goes on and on, no class has every type of damn creature and card in the game other than druid, and they’re all GOOD, none of them are bad. You can make a legit druid deck using nothing but druid cards, maybe toss in 2 yetis and a rag, bam, surpreme deck.
They generally feel more like 3S Chun at this point.
The typical druid deck is;
Versatile, defensive god with good offensive options, shits on most of the cast/manageable to good matchup with the better characters, and a bunch of fuck you buttons, once they build enough meter mana, ragnaros/ysera comes out and SA IIs the fuck out of people once they establish control.
Then it doesn’t stop there, you could run into a druid thinking she’s Chun like all the other druids… BUT THEN SHE STARTS CHOKING YOU AND TRANSFORMS INTO MAKOTO.
They’re still quite expensive to main if you start out though, even with the violet paw deck that allows you to run with minimal legendaries. Took me awhile to be able to get 2x Ancient of lore + everything else. Basic druid deck with starting neutrals is pretty terrible.
Some hearthstone official forum hilarity regarding people’s answers to Nat Pagle.
So to get rid of pagle, this guy is willing to use a card that guarantees him 2 card draws, a wasted removal and a turn used if used in early game rofl.
Soulfire is kinda similar. If a lock soulfires a nat pagle in the early game, the opponent knows
he got you by the balls and he has no minions to melee that guy off
and
“thanks for the 2 card discard/wasted removal + discarded card” . Especially if Nat managed to draw.
Made my first Paladin deck today to get the daily bonus. Took me nearly 3 hours to lose for the first time. And my deck has 4 cards above 5 mana cost.
Is it just me with the opinion that any Priest who play with Thoughtsteal doesn’t deserve to win any match they play? if not, what are your thoughts about it?
I see it as mana wasted as I rush them down with a board filled with 4 attack minions/faerie dragon opener that they can do little to stop aside from crazy alchemist/iron dwarf Shadow word shenanigans and expensive removals otherwise usually. If they play it on turn 3, I laugh maniacally as I play a yeti then a charging Druid of the claw in the following turn or gaining momentum as Rogue.
Even if they had some staying power at the start, thoughtsteal is just a toss up. Sometimes it works well and sometimes it gives you absolute shit. It’s a gamble to even have in a priest deck, even if they gain a bit of card advantage and a slight bit of scouting of whats in your opponents deck. Overall I think its 3 mana to get cards that may or may not work for you or even have any synergy with your deck at all.
*though thoughtstealing from the average druid deck may get you some consistently good cards, however like I said before, turn 3 thoughtsteal? Hope you can survive the 4 attack onslaught coming your way in the following turns
That’s constructed.
In arena, there’s a fairer chance of getting something that can work with your deck since players can’t often opt for synergy card. Still a slightly lower pick for me in arena unless I get shit otherwise. Occasionally you can find use for it at the late game when you’re both close to decking out and you get to scout whats left in his deck.
*note in constructed you can sorta have an idea already by the late game of what kind of deck he’s playing, so you have a feel for what possible threats can come, legendary or not. In arena, that’s not the case so any scouting info at that point of the game would be nice.
Mind vision on the other hand, I can see being more useful overall in arena and constructed. 1 mana to scout a card off your opponents hand. Being able to have an idea of whats in your opponents hand is consistently good not amazing, but alright, especially if they’re holding unto certain cards and you take notice of that.
mind vision on a mage at turn 6 and find a flamestrike is HUUUUUGE. Useful information to know and you get a flamestrike on hand
It’s not a must have card in constructed… still kinda hard pressed to take a spot since priest needs every ultra valuable card they can afford at the state they’re in, but i’d take one in arena if there’s no other amazing pick otherwise.
Getting fucked by Innervate in arena is so shitty. I just got raped by turn 1 double innervate into Druid of the Claw (charge), turn 2 Mark of the Wild, and then the dude just beating my face in.
Cause I’m running a mage deck and find its pretty good at stalling for another turn or 2.
Usually play it at turn 3-4 to stop a 4/5 mana minion.
Or coined at the start when they play nothing.
