Hearthstone - That other, other, other Blizzard game

http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/196253-legend-sjows-midrange-warrior

The deck I’m basing mine on. Still really a control deck, but it’s so much faster than the standard wallet warrior.

Lack shield slams, Harrison, and gorrash. So tossed in slams, faceless, and rag.

Faceless could be loatheb easy, but I did get a double KT play out of faceless with a Belcher so that was fun.

  1. I actually watched a few Trump teachings videos recently, obviously it is about the basic fundamentals, but he is outstanding at conveying information/thought processes. I know he is a top player and all that, but he actually has a real talent for teaching.

  2. I’m done with deathrattle hunter, with the undertaker nerf many of those low cost deathrattle minions are not worth running. Went back to mid range beast hunter (which was a lot more fun anyway). Still waiting for that 2nd call pet so I can try a more controllish hunter.

  3. Druid ideal deck progress…well I finally got enough dust to craft another epic. I now have one ancient of war. Slowly but surely…

Today, I found out that unlike Fel Reaver, Gadgetzan overdraw still counts.

#accidentalsuicide

Gadgetzan draws a card, fel reaver mills the card (aka removes it from the deck), so thats the difference

So I think I figured out how to play rogue in arena.

Draft Onyxia, play her, then don’t get board wiped.

Best strat for 10 wins ever

Nobody knows about the Onyxia tech you fool, stop giving away my pro strats!

Real men play Knife Juggler then Onyxia.

My token Druid deck will have one for that specific purpose. I want to see how many knife tosses it takes before they concede in anger.

The Onyxia -> Savage roar dream

god damn this damn game got me hooked now… shouldn’t have given it a try.

anyways whats the best way for a beginner to get his card collection up to snuff? I would rather not spend mass amounts on card packs.

Just keep doing arena. You’ll get cards faster that way especially as you get better

@highlulu : hahaha…another poor soul sapped in the Hearthstone universe. Soon you’d be praising the almighty Jaraxxus!

@Pimpster_Will: Shiieet, that’s just downright durty.

Anyways, how do you guys handle Dr. Boom? It seems every one has one these nowadays. That ish is such an interrupt.

Big game hunter the doctah and pray to rngesus that the bombs don’t hit good targets. Also pray if they played it on the curve that they don’t have Kel’Thuzad to back it up turn 8. So dirty.

It’s all bout them boom bots. U can’t AOE them, you can’t attack them, you can waste a silence on one! (but what about the other, what about the terrible value trade?). U play your BGH, kill off Dr. Boom…well u r losing ur BGH guaranteed, and the other boombot is likely to wreck something else.

I guess it is easy to see why if you have Dr. Boom you put him in every deck regardless of type.

Not every deck, but 90% of decks, sure, Super aggro decks probably dont really want him, as he’s too slow.

I have been avoiding the arena cause i figured it would be better with more cards, so i’ll give it a shot when i get home tonight.

Arena is a neutral card pool. Everything is potentially available for you to pick.

It rewards on the fly deck construction skill and play skill more than ladder does.

Doing arena runs will help you become familiar with all the cards in Hearthstone too like Veserius said, all the cards are basically available for drafting.

Maybe the fastest decks? However I see him in zoolock and rush/face hunter. BTW any way to get rid of him without super unfavorable trade? I guess mass dispel and BGH would be something priest could do. Or something like consecration/swipe (to face) + BGH. It does seem no matter what dr boom is going to screw you over even if you are building a deck specifically to counter him.

Arena is probably the truest test of skill. No one has an advantage as far as card pool, it is all random from the entire pool of cards. Netdecking not possible, you can look up arena value from pros but you also have to consider how the various cards will synergize. It is essentially perfectly equal. Also unlike playing a deck in constructed that you have mastered and played dozens of times, the arena deck will be a first time every time.

I’d also agree with kim and think arena may be even more useful for beginners than experienced players. You start out with a very limited card pool and are going to be unfamiliar with the vast majority of cards. Arena gives you that opportunity to use and thus learn about cards that you do not have.
