I think part of my cognitive dissonance is because the one deck I’ve played a lot where having cheap spellpower is important (my miralock deck), kobold geomancer was demonstrably better. Geomancer > shadowflame on geomancer is 6 mana for 3 damage AoE. The same thing with Thalnos only does 2 damage, though it does draw a card; however, I found myself in way more situations where I needed to do more damage than situations where I needed one more card.
One thing I read said this: spellpower isn’t worth a card, and thalnos gives it to you without costing a card, because it replaces itself. I can see that, but I still don’t know how to feel. I still feel like a lot of legendaries I currently lack like Cairne, Sylvanas, Rag, Ysera, Malygos, The Black Knight would have clearer and bigger impacts, and that’s not accounting for class legendaries… I’m still about 6 legendaries short of a control warrior deck, haha.
Yeah Thalnos seems awesome, I’d also love one value is insane. Hold onto thalnos for spell combos, and you get a card when he dies. He isn’t played early game, so him being 1/1 isn’t bad he is going to die anyways on opponents turn. You get a sweet combo with extra spell damage, then when your opponent kills him you get a card. Looking at the other cards I do like Demolisher even though I rarely see him played. I got one a while back, and when he is protected behind a taunt…he can wreck havoc. He also has 4 health, so on an empty board he is pretty sweet.
How do you guys approach deck building? Since there are only 9 deck slots, I make one for each hero, and I try to incorporate different themes into each for variety. I heavily favor class cards over neutral cards, since they are limited to that class. I look up new cards that I acquire in packs, to see maybe there is some combo or use for them I’m not seeing, but never look at other peoples decks. I try to avoid repeating many cards between different decks. It definitely is a work in progress and I’m constantly replacing cards as my collection grows and I get more experienced.

I think you’d be fine dusting it for one of those legendaries. It’s not like you’re missing out on anything if you aren’t paying decks where he’d be used anyway, plus you go 1 for 1 getting something you want.
Yeah that’s the entire point Warp, the 2/2 or 2/1 body wont affect the game in many cases where as the combined effects often will.
If I were to craft anything It’d be a Black Knight or Cairne, both feel really slow right now in my opinion. Black Knight is kind of clunky at 6 against the belcher army but still a good card. I suggest you keep Thalnos if you play any Rogue, Shaman or Druid though.
I see that fine print! Lol. So you think it is unwise to pick shaman or hunters in the arena? I know hunters are supposed be bad in arena, but I thought shaman was one of the best.
Despite my vow to never pick deathlord in arena again, I do have 2 in my warrior deck for constructed.
I think shaman is alright. Decent removal, some pretty good common minions (fire elemental).
Priest is by far my best class. I have a 57% win rate taking out my priest runs, and on the priest I am at 70% and 2 wins more per run.
I think I’m just going to screw it and craft cairne and sylvannas. I’ll still have enough for a 3rd legendary to follow up with, and in tired of mediocre constructed decks.
Deathlord actually kind of makes inner fire worth it, though I’d still be wary of putting divine spirit in there, as it’s less versatile. At worst, inner fire can help you make trades or set up opposing minions for shadow words.
I made a wailing soul deck to screw around with. One game I got the dream hand: zombie chow, ancient watcher, deathlord, wailing soul…and they all came on the board clean. I was playing a freeze mage, too, so later that game I ended up playing wailing soul after a frost nova.
Opened up a cairne, so I crafted sylvannas. My other legendaries are ysera and Harrison.
3200 dust left, thinking of making 2 cabals to complete Kibler priest and tirion to make an almost complete control pally… Just afraid that deck will be too boring.
Shaman is hard for me to evaluate the deathrattles are good value, but reincarnate is garbage. The bigger pool of cards means hex is less common now which does hurt your removal.
@Korbidon would you say TBK is essential to control pally? Trying to figure out if I can cut any corners
I have a golden brawl and a hogger I am OK dusting, along with some other bad epics (pit lord, twisting nether) that can put me at about 4200 dust to work with. Since I have no experience with even a single control deck, I’m just fearing buyers remorse.
