Wow, that’s a lot of stuff. Making it through second post now.
[S]Also, you missed something the head allows you to avoid against Bella (I don’t know if you know, you didn’t capitalize on it both times it happened when we had matches). If the head is underneath or behind Bella when she does her qcf+pp (swingy arms), Fortune can counter attack. Each arm, starting from her feet and going up from behind her, has only one hit worth of hits. If the head eats the hits, Fortune can start up her combo before you take all that excess damage on the head. She is only invincible for a moment, and you have, like, 3 or 4 seconds to retaliate.[/S]
May be wrong. I’ve seen it happen, but can’t do it in training mode. I’ll report back when I’m sure…
EDIT: Well… it does happen, but it’s weird. The head has to be a little in front of Bella when she does the super, Fortune can’t be hit by the first arm, and it’s almost like the game just decides whether it wants to do one thing or the other after that. If you can find out when, why and how it does it, you can save yourself some damage.
I am just a fair player. I feel like Fortune’s cheap, but I shoot straight. If I know something, I’m sharing it at some point. I already learned a fair amount of information, stuff that may just raise my win-ratio against GuitarAlex, so fair’s fair. 'sides, most of them don’t give me nightmare’s like GA’s Nadia.
I used to use Ms.Fortune for the first week. I use her every once in a while still; her combos consist of…
s.lp, s.lp, s.lk, s.mk, s.hk, j.lp, j.lk, j.mp, qcb+hp, qcb+hp, s.lp, s.lp, s.lk, s.mk, s.hk, j.mk, qcb+hk, qcb+kk, and sometimes I get the extra qcb+hp, rekka, qcf+pp.
Nothing close to acceptable considering all shes capable of.
I like hit confirming with c.LK s.MK since c.LK and s.MK both have great range compared to a s.LP or c.LP.
For crossups I like IAD j.LP xx qcb+LK, since neither, either or both can cross up depending on the slight delay of j.LP.
ON TO IMPORTANT STUFF:
I had a chat with Mike Z about a few things, and he let me know that the glitch with OTG Nom I posted recently is a mistake and is going to be patched out. He has already corrected it. Apparently finding out that glitch also helped fixing Mortuary Drop things, although my knowledge of why is zero. Sort of sad, but it was a wasn’t anything too bad. It was something sort of neat that let you land some weird mixups as well as getting more damage and air combo reps.
(For those interested in trying out the glitch, make sure you OTG with Nom on the bounce between the pink and blue circles, then s.HK launch or do an outtake. If you did it right, the opponent will get hit but the launch/outtake will not happen; instead the entire hitstun is spent on the ground, and then the opponent will recover. This was useful for corner combos since you could ground combo into dp into j.HK, OTG with Nom, then s.HK into dp into another air combo for more damage. You can super jump s.HK on hit but the opponent will stay on the ground, allowing for some weird crossups with IADs, and you can also cancel it into more rekkas if you ran out of IPS chains.)
Also, any head hits from the third rekka or the slide will always hit as OTG. This is to prevent the mind-numbingly insane shit I’ve found recently that can kill a 1v2 in a meter positive combo, that happens to BTW kill completely meterless post patch. God help us if that hadn’t been fixed. Hitting the head after any other situation will work fine and as it normally does right now. Believe me when I tell you it’s for the best.
If you’re sort of sad that you lost a low-throw reset opportunity, consider OTG HP xx dp+HP, s.LP restand, low/throw. The dp hits, immediately after the light hits and they fall straight down into the low/throw mixup. So it’s not that sad. Just not mind-numbingly stupid.
Did anyone know the minimum damage was changed for the patch from 15%/20% to 20%/30%? This was news to me.
Yo ive only watched the first vid so far… But man thereis so much awesomeness in there! Gj alex. I never knew the sandwich secrets nor that the screen pulled the head (so cheap wtf?) LOL.
Now i dont feel so bad for trying to get some of the pw shit in that i try to get in
After watching this i may just have to try out fortune again, seriously that is pro shit man, you are giving away secrets… Its appreciated, as it makes fortune not seem so unorthodox
…the head follows her… Fucking a who wouldve thought, mind is blown.
It’s a “secret” that only some Fortune and Peacock players knew. It’s what Peacock uses to call assist, teleport behind and cross up; the edge where assists are pushed with is also pushing the head.
I mentioned it in my long ass guide, but SEEING it and doing it yourself definitely puts it in perspective.
I asked Mike Z about it, and he told me that it was done on purpose because otherwise the head could get lost way, way, way far behind.
Are there any decent combos for a newbie like myself. I’m looking to devote my time to this game and hit this game in practice mode in all the spare time I have. Any post-patch combos would be appreciated.
