Since no one else seems to be willing to do this, I figured I might as well.
This tournament is PSN only.
It’s gonna be a ghetto tournament, there are no prizes, it’s just for fun and bragging rights. = )
If you want to join:
-quote the next post, edit the quote, and if any extra comments, post them
-I’m not a moderator and can’t continuously edit my original post. If some moderators would be willing to help out, that would be great. Thanks in advance. = )
-edit the Players amount (eg 1/8 to 2/8) so ppl know how many players have joined and which ones are full
-add your PSN ID (not SRK ID)
-if you see a post before yours where another poster added his name to the same room as yours, and since your post came after his, he gets priority, so edit your post and update the changes
-if your post came first, leave things as they are
-if the room is full, add another room with yourself as the host and copy/paste the format below into your post so that it’s less confusing
-add a Room # so that each tournament has a number and can be identified uniquely (eg this is Room #1, the next one will be Room #2, etc)
-try to join the rooms of players that are on your friends list so that you can invite each other if any disconnects happen in the lobby or if you’re missing some players, you can invite others who are online at the time but not in the tournament, just makes things easier
-also try to join those rooms that you’ve had good connections with before (ie no lag)
-on the day and time of the tournament, go to Multiplayer>Friendly Match>Join Tournament
-only the host should edit the time and date of the tournament in the post
-only the host should create a room on the tournament date, so if you’re not the host do not create a tournament, instead join a tournament and find your host
-hosts: invite as many players to your room as possible (if they’re on your list) so that regular PSN players don’t join
-players: to avoid regular PSN players from joining (I don’t think there is a boot option), show up to your room on time
-once the tournament is over, update the SRK post with the results, again copy/paste the format below and add your name as well as the character you used, so that ppl can get an idea of the outcome
-only the winner should update the post with the winner’s name, but if you know who the winner was, verify that the post is indeed correct, so that there are no disputes
-if any disconnects or bugs occur, post that here too so that there is clarity about the results
-gonna be single elimination, because double elimination may be too complicated (gonna take coordination and communication to seed players properly)
-if there are enough players and tournaments though, I suggest not only double elimination with loser’s brackets, but a grand champion’s tournament, where the champions of each tournament play each other
-I think we should ban Vega for disconnect issues, but not Akuma
-if someone wants to create a poll on whether they should be banned or not, that would be a good idea
-I don’t think we should pick 1 character and stick with only that character, but it’s upto the participants of each tournament
-just make sure you add any rules to your post so that other would-be-participants are aware of them (such as 5 rounds, banning Akuma, etc)
