awesome link there Johnny. i’m definitely going to put that stuff to use, as my Ps2 has a hell of a lot of trouble reading HDL discs.
I just got my japanese version of CVS2 and works perfectly!!!
sound, player 2, everything.
Johnny, did you use any patches? my KOFXI doesn’t work on 0.8c. can’t start a game at all. (been trying to run on practice mode)
edit:
from this thread
http://www.console-exploits.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10128&page=3
it says you have to set OPTIONS -> Graphics -> Load Type to SIMPLE. awesome.
Anyone know how the Korean version of SFAC works?
tried the KOFXI Simple Loading screen thing. works perfectly so far
edit:
ok it just froze on me after stage 3.
HDADVANCE 3.0 - PAL (I don’t think it matters)
The Rumble Fish - JAP - Works. Use the program named ISOBUSTER to open the TRF.iso and extract all the files to a new folder i.e. TRFX. Now use Nero Burning Rom - DVD: UDF/ISO, firstly open up the TRF.iso with ISOBUSTER, then import the files from TRFX into Nero in the same order they are listed in ISOBUSTER. Afterwards burn at 4x or slower.
Art of Fighting Anthology - JAP works as well. Use the program named ISOBUSTER to open the AoFC.iso and extract all the files to a new folder i.e. AoFCX. Now open up SYSTEM.CNF with notepad and modify it to:
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SELECT.ELF;1
VER = 1.02
VMODE = NTSC
HDDUNITPOWER = NIC
Save your changes. Now use Nero Burning Rom - DVD: UDF/ISO, firstly open up the AoFC.iso with ISOBUSTER, then import the files from AoFCX into Nero in the same order they are listed in ISOBUSTER. Afterwards burn at 4x or slower.
Last Blade Collection - JAP - Follow the exact same method as listed above, and it will work like a charm.
World Heroes Gorgeous - JAP - Follow the exact same method as listed above, and it will work like a charm.
I cannot remember which stuff I enabled with SELECT - just enable the most common, kill HDA after launch, Timefix 2x and 3x.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves - JAP works aswell - without any modding ^_____________^
Arcana Heart - JAP Works.
Fatal Fury Battle Archives 1 - JAP Works, using the method above modifying the SYSTEM.CNF
Fatal Fury Battle Archives 2 - JAP Works, using the method above modifying the SYSTEM.CNF
Shijou Saikyou no Deshi - Kenichi - JAP Works.
Power Instinct Matrimelee - JAP Works.
KOF '94 Re-Bout - JAP Works.
Samurai Spirits: Tenkaichi Kenkakuden - Works.
Guilty Gear: Accent Core Plus - JAP Works.
Kinnikuman Muscle Grand Prix Max 2 Tokumori - Works.
mmmm rumble fish has always worked?
Yeah. Rumble Fish always worked. I believe he’s just describing the steps into shrinking the image file size by getting rid of the false LBA info, making the image on the HD a little less than 400MB (instead of the full 4.3GB). Very much worth doing if you want the extra space on your HD.
Thing is, I couldn’t play Rumble Fish before I shrunk the image file. It would install on my Hdd - but when the installation finished it had a large amount of errors and wouldn’t launch.
You guys ever heard of HDL_patch? It’s an unofficial version of HDLoader with far improved compatibility. Here’s the link: http://psx-scene.com/forums/ide-hdd-discussion/27640-hdl_patch-zer0-x.html
(KOF XI and NGBC still don’t work, though)
So far the only game from NeoGeo Online Collection I’ve experienced working without any modding is Garou: MotW - it also supports Progressive Scan. Currently installing Fatal Fury Battle Archives 2 on my HDD, lets see if it works.
Rikidozan:
ever tried using Nero to turn it into an ISO, then transferring it via winhiip?
Nope, but I’ve heard it’s the greatest solution for transferring games, since the PS2 doesn’t get worn.
I use Nero Burning Rom quite much.
winhiip has a hell of a lot of trouble reading hard drives, but it’s great when it works. :l
tried shrinking GGXX AC and transferring it, but winhiip was being gay so i couldn’t send it.
I finally got an USB to IDE adapter, now I can play SFEX3.
Just found out U.S version of neogeo battle colusium does not work.
It boots up fine and appears to work ok, the intro & demo gameplay show well, but the moment you press start the game freezes and thats that. Oh well.
Has anyone tried KOFXI NTSC-U and see if it has the same freezing problem as the NTSC-J version.
Can HD loader be patched to work with 3s, a3 an Darkstalkers col, and does anyone know how to do it?
Anyone tried Sengoku Basara X yet?
EDIT: tried it a couple of times with HDA3. Was originally freezing in training mode during character selection. Then I changed the pad config to the correct stick layout plus set auto save on. When I try again I get a black screen of death right after I go into training mode. Turned off auto save same thing happens :bluu:.
I have that one and works very fine (sound, two players and both games), i have CvS2 ntsc-usa (cd-version) and dont play any music only sfx sounds
It freezes only when you defeat tha final boss of the game, if you play on VS mode you can play as well without freezing.
